The Operating Room Charge Nurse plays a critical role in the coordination and supervision of patient care activities within the operating room (OR) at our clients ambulatory surgery center. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the OR, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and satisfaction.*Key Responsibilities:** Coordinate and supervise all activities within the operating room, including patient assessments, surgical procedures, and post-operative care.* Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to OR staff, providing guidance and support as needed.* Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other members of the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.* Oversee the preparation and maintenance of surgical equipment and supplies, ensuring availability and readiness for procedures.* Monitor patient status throughout the perioperative period, identifying and addressing any deviations from the expected course of care.* Assist with the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocols to enhance the efficiency and safety of OR operations.* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance activities to maintain accreditation standards.* Act as a liaison between OR staff, nursing leadership, and other departments to facilitate effective communication and teamwork.*Requirements:** Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.* Minimum of 3 years of experience in preoperative nursing, with demonstrated leadership abilities.* Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.* Proficiency in computer documentation and electronic health records (EHR) systems.* Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities._Please note- The annual base salary range is $90k to $125k. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
