Pharmacy Technician Job Summary
Responsible for filling prescriptions, processing medication records, and implementing inventory control processes in a hospital pharmacy setting.

Job Description
Fills prescriptions under the supervision of a Pharmacist, processes medication records, and computes charges. Implements inventory control processes and orders stock within regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Mixes pharmaceutical preparations, fills bottles with prescribed tablets and capsules, and types out labels for bottles.
  
• Receives and stores incoming supplies, counts stock, and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records.
  
• Prepares intravenous (IV) packs using sterile technique under the supervision of the hospital pharmacist.
  
• Cleans equipment and sterilizes glassware according to prescribed methods.
  
• Types and files reports and completes forms as directed.
  
• Fills routine prescriptions with prepackaged pharmaceuticals and resolves queries related to prescriptions.
  
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
  
  
  Requirements:
  
  • 
    
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    
  • Current active registration with the State of NJ Board of Pharmacy.
    
    
    Preferred Qualifications:
    
    • 
      
    • Bachelor's degree in Health Care, Pharmacy or related field.
      
    • Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB).
      
    • 3-5 years of experience in a Hospital Pharmacy or relevant area.
