qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Brooklyn, New York, 11212! Pay
Information $2,632 per week About The Position Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 11.50 hours
Experience: 3-5 years in a Level I or II Trauma Center preferred
License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS,
PALS, AHA Stroke certification required Must-Have: BSN prepared,
TCAR required, competent in CRRT machine operation,
vent/tracheostomy and gastrostomy tubes, medication titration, and
A-lines Description: Utilize the nursing process in the provision
of direct patient care. Responsible and accountable for
prescribing, delegating, and coordinating all care provided to
assigned patients. Delivery of care is based on established
standards of care and practices. Diagnose and treat human responses
to actual and potential health problems through services such as
case finding, health teaching, health counseling, and provision of
supportive or restorative care. Supervise patient care provided by
licensed practical nurses, registered nurses on permit, nursing
attendants, technicians, and supplemental staff. Responsibilities:
Assess the immediate and continuing care needs of the patient and
significant other. Develop comprehensive and current plans of care
which include physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs. Provide
direct patient care based on assessed needs and the medical
regimen. Oversee and ensure the provision of all aspects of care
for the patient. Supervise the care provided by other nursing
personnel as defined in the scope of practice. Observe, evaluate,
document, and communicate to relevant team members the patient's
response to illness and/or therapeutic modalities. Ensure timely
reassessment of patient responses to treatment and significant
changes in patient condition and/or diagnosis. Coordinate the
overall plan of care to ensure implementation of nursing
interventions and consistency with medical regimen. Establish
priorities for care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary
team and initiate follow-up as needed. Assure the plan of care
integrates age-specific care needs as defined in the unit's scope
of care. Accept responsibility and accountability for nursing
interventions and outcomes based on professional clinical
judgments. Participate in quality improvement activities related to
patient care delivery and the development of nursing and hospital
standards. Demonstrate effective communication and manage stressful
situations appropriately. Facilitate interpersonal relationships
with other disciplines. Other Responsibilities: Participate in the
orientation of nursing staff. Assume charge responsibilities as
delegated. Ensure appropriate coverage of all patients by assisting
and relieving co-workers, and working on other units as assigned.
Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Serve as a clinical resource for student nurses. Participate in
meetings, committees, conferences, and educational programs. Engage
in research and pilot projects supported by the nursing department.
Demonstrate responsibility for continuing professional growth and
education, including attendance at staff development and continuing
education programs. Pursue baccalaureate or graduate degrees in
nursing and appropriate professional certifications. Participate in
appropriate professional and community organizations. Schedule
Notes: Days - 3 days per week and every other weekend required - No
RTO - TCAR required. Experience: No experience required, some
preferred. Ability to fully utilize electronic record systems,
equipment, and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to
