Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: 07/07/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days, flexible - Employment Type: Local Contract Job Title: Registered Dietitian Location: Brooklyn, NY 11203 Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Contract Duration :13 Weeks Pay Rate: $50.00 - $53.00 per hour on W2 Job Summary: The Registered Dietitian provides clinical nutrition care and education to patients at McKinney, a post-acute (long-term care) facility. The role includes performing nutritional assessments, developing care plans, monitoring outcomes, and collaborating with healthcare providers to support optimal patient health outcomes. This position ensures compliance with long-term care facility regulatory standards under CMS guidelines. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Screen and assess patients for nutritional risk in a timely and accurate manner based on level of care. Interview patients and/or families to obtain dietary history and preferences. Interpret laboratory and medical data as it applies to nutrition. Monitor and counsel patients regarding food-drug interactions. Provide individualized patient education and document dietary instructions and patient understanding. Consult with physicians and modify diets accordingly. Adjust patient menus to align with medical needs and preferences. Maintain documentation in compliance with regulatory and facility standards. Required Skills & Experience: Minimum 2 year of clinical nutrition experience required. 2 years of experience preferred, especially in post-acute/long-term care settings. Education and Certification Requirements: Graduate from an accredited college or university with a degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition. New York State Certification as a “Dietitian-Nutritionist” issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) (required at time of hire for post-acute care). Registered Dietitian (RD) status through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) (required). Primary source verification required. AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – preferred. Master’s degree – preferred.
