1/5/2026 About the Position Tompkins County is seeking a Medical
Director – Mental Health to lead our community mental health,
substance use, and developmental disability services . Provide
psychiatric assessments , consultations , court evaluations ??, and
supervise clinical staff ?????? while shaping high-impact programs
for the community. Key Responsibilities: Conduct outpatient &
emergency psychiatric assessments and treatment Perform court
evaluations and coordinate with law enforcement & courts ??
Supervise physicians & clinical staff, ensuring high-quality care ?
Develop policies, procedures & training programs Collaborate with
community agencies and educational programs Contribute to program
evaluation & accountability systems Requirements Qualifications:
MD/DO with Board Certification in Psychiatry Strong knowledge of
psychiatry, community mental health & relevant laws Leadership
experience & ability to supervise clinical teams ??? Excellent
