Job Description:
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with New
York City Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst has an exciting opportunity
for a House Physician with experience in Cardiology or Critical
Care, to join our CICU team and provide care in our 9 bed CICU and
6 bed Cardiac stepdown unit. This is a nocturnal only position. The
hospital is easily accessible by public transportation and car from
all areas of New York City, New Jersey and Long Island.
Responsibilities: Provide advanced care for patients with acute
cardiac conditions, including ACS, cardiogenic shock, arrhythmia,
advanced heart failure, post-MI care under the supervision of an
attending cardiologist. Perform and document comprehensive history
and physical examinations. Order, interpret and act on diagnostic
studies and laboratory tests. Perform ICU procedures (central
venous catheter placement, arterial line placement, etc.) as
credentialed. Participate in multidisciplinary care planning.
Collaborate with cardiology fellows, residents, nurses, and
ancillary staff. Support quality improvement, education, and
research activities within the CICU. Provide patient/family
education and discharge planning. Candidates must have a MD/DO
degree and be board certified/board eligible in Internal Medicine
with a valid New York State License, DEA and Medicaid number. We
offer a faculty appointment with the Icahn School of Medical at
Mount Sinai commensurate with credentials, experience and
qualifications. We also offer a highly competitive compensation and
benefits package. Compensation for this role is $84,000. Fluency in
