Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery Location: New York City, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,733 per week Shift Information: 3 days x 11 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Clinical Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12.5 hours Experience: 2 years in Labor & Delivery required License: NYS RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Must-Have: Experience with Magnesium Sulfate, Comfort with newborns Description: The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others. Delivers patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care through the application of the nursing process based upon theory, research, and evidence-based practice. Assesses and evaluates patient care needs and applies critical thinking skills in patient care management. Integrates relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care. Prioritizes all aspects of patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning after hospital care while delegating to others as appropriate. Educates patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease. Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team. Manages assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing, demonstrating effective allocation of material resources. Role models the tenets of Relationship Centered Care through various patient interactions. Considers the patient's values, preferences, cultural diversity, expressed needs and knowledge in all aspects of care. Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with patients and families. Initiates service recovery for patients and family members who have concerns and escalates issues as needed. Demonstrates caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening through dialogue, body language, and actions. Practices safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement. Implements process improvement strategies based on institutional evidence-based procedures. Engages in formal and informal peer and institutional review processes. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement quality improvement projects and evidence-based practice activities. Documents nursing practice accurately and thoroughly to support quality and performance improvement initiatives. Facilitates patient throughput on a shift basis. Contributes to the environment of care to support clinical colleagues, patients, and their families. Advances clinical competence in nursing practice to progress from novice to expert. Projects a professional image to colleagues and communicates with styles that demonstrate caring, respect, compassion, and empathy. Incorporates ethical principles into decision-making for patient and family. Participates in shared decision-making through specialty practice councils and unit initiatives.
