Job Title: Clinical Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12.5 hours Experience: - Minimum 2 years of RN experience - 2 years of telemetry and critical care experience preferred License: - Client Registered Nurse License Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Telemetry Certification preferred - Ventilator experience preferred Must-Have: - Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred - Experience with electronic health records Description: The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe and competent quality care to a designated group of patients and their significant others. Delivers patient care by applying the nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and organizational nursing standards. Assesses and evaluates patient care needs while applying critical thinking skills in patient care management. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care. Prioritizes all aspects of patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning after hospital care, delegating to others as appropriate. Educates patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, health promotion, and disease prevention. Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, families, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team. Manages assignments according to the Care Delivery Model, demonstrating effective allocation of resources. Role models the principles of Relationship Centered Care through effective facilitation of various patient care actions. Considers patient values, preferences, cultural diversity, and expressed needs in all aspects of care. Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with patients and families. Initiates service recovery for patients and families with concerns and escalates as needed. Demonstrates caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening. Practices safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying barriers and opportunities for improvement. Demonstrates crucial clinical skills and knowledge related to quality and safety in the patient population served. Implements process improvement strategies based on evidence and hospital procedures. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement quality improvement projects and nursing research studies. Documents nursing practice accurately and thoroughly, adhering to legal and regulatory standards. Facilitates patient throughput on a shift basis. Advances clinical competence in nursing practice and supports colleagues in a professional manner. Incorporates ethical principles into decision making for patients and families.
