a qualified Long-Term Care RN in Brooklyn, New York, 11212! Job
Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Long-Term

Licensed to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse
Certifications: CPR Certification, PRI Assessor Must-Have: Graduate
of an accredited registered nursing program Knowledge of MDS Recent
staff nurse experience, preferably in AIDS care Description: The
Registered Professional Nurse utilizes the nursing process in
provision of direct patient care. The RN is responsible and
accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating
nursing care of residents. Supervises resident/patient care
provided by other members of the nursing team. Develops and
implements the resident care plan and augments the quality of life
for the residents. Diagnoses and treats human responses to actual
and potential health problems through services such as case finding
and health teaching. Acts in accordance with the Code of Ethics for
Nurses. Participates in determining conditions, resources, and
policies essential to the delivery of nursing care services. Knows
and adheres to objectives and policies related to resident care.
Establishes and maintains good interpersonal relationships with
residents, families, and visitors in accordance with the patient
Bill of Rights. Maintains effective and proper use of equipment and
supplies, including safekeeping of residents' belongings. Maintains
the safekeeping of drugs and their records according to the law.
Participates in maintaining standards of nursing practice by
applying scientific principles in performing nursing procedures.
Conducts residents' care rounds to identify needs and problems.
Initiates assessment of residents' needs and develops a
comprehensive plan of care. Completes assigned sections of the
Minimum Data Set Plus; applies appropriate RAPS and DS. Coordinates
and participates in the Comprehensive Care Planning process.
Implements the comprehensive care plan in conjunction with
residents and families. Assesses the nutritional needs of residents
and participates during mealtime. Revises nursing assignments as
needed and supervises staff members. Ensures unit programs of
restorative nursing care meet resident needs. Provides direct
nursing care based on the needs of residents. Administers
medication and treatments according to physician's orders. Delivers
appropriate nursing intervention in response to physical and
behavioral conditions. Communicates the plan of care to others
providing care. Assists with investigation of complaints and
occurrences related to resident care. Is responsible for carrying
out fire and safety regulations to maintain a safe environment.
Evaluates, documents, and communicates responses to nursing
interventions and treatments. Assists with orientation, skill
training, and evaluation of new nursing personnel. Participates in
departmental committees that influence policies affecting nursing
