Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/02/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel RN - Stepdown - Contract - MSH Position Details: /t - Location: Mount Sinai Hospital, 1468 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10029 /t - Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 days/week /t - Shift Type: 12 hours /t - Requirements: Must have Stepdown experience in a hospital setting, BSN required, minimum 2 years experience Summary: The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent, quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Patient Care /t - Deliver patient care using Relationship Centered Care and nursing process based on evidence-based practice and standards. /t - Assess and evaluate patient care needs with critical thinking. /t - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and evaluate care plans. /t - Educate patients and caregivers on care plans, health promotion, and disease prevention. /t - Manage assignments within the Modified Primary Nursing Care Delivery Model. Patient Experience /t - Role model Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care practices including hourly rounding and bedside reports. /t - Maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families. /t - Address patient concerns and escalate as necessary. /t - Demonstrate empathy, respect, and active listening. Quality and Safety /t - Practice safe, efficient, patient-centered care. /t - Participate in quality improvement projects and institutional review processes. /t - Identify and escalate safety hazards following institutional protocols. /t - Document nursing practice to support quality initiatives. Operations /t - Perform charge nurse duties as assigned. /t - Coordinate supply management and escalate shortages. /t - Document accurately following hospital and regulatory standards. /t - Facilitate patient throughput efficiently. Professional Development /t - Support clinical colleagues and the healthcare team. /t - Advance clinical competence and project a professional image. /t - Incorporate ethical decision-making. /t - Engage in lifelong learning and shared decision-making through committees.
