Overview: The Anesthesiologist at our organization provides
anesthesia services for a diverse range of surgical and obstetric
procedures, collaborating closely with residents and CRNAs in a
teaching hospital environment. This position includes on-call
responsibilities, supported by a dedicated team, and offers a
competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package.
Candidates must possess board eligibility or certification in
Anesthesiology and hold a valid medical license in New York State.
Our organization is seeking to add an Anesthesiologist to our team
at NYC Health Hospitals/Lincoln . The department handles an average
of 160 cases weekly, supported by a vibrant OB team that conducted
1,580 deliveries last year. The facility features 8 main operating
rooms, 2 cystoscopy rooms, 2 labor and delivery ORs, 2 endoscopy
suites, and 1 interventional radiology room. The case mix includes
a variety of procedures, primarily routine cases, along with
healthy pediatrics, obstetrics, neurology, thoracic, vascular,
orthopedics, ENT, and trauma cases. Located just 15 minutes from
NYC, NYC Health Hospitals/Lincoln is an acute care teaching
hospital affiliated with Weill Medical College of Cornell
University . Position Highlights: Two attending physicians manage
main OR cases, while a third focuses on labor and delivery. On-call
duties are well-supported by three in-house attendings during
nights and weekends. A minimum of four calls per month is required.
Weekday on-call hours: 3 p.m. to 7 a.m. (16 hours). Weekend on-call
hours: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. (24 hours). CRNAs and residents work
under a 1:2 supervision ratio. Approximately 40% of cases are
performed independently, while 60% are under supervision.
Anesthesiology residents from New York Medical College rotate
through the facility. Five residents graduate annually. Residents
also participate in in-house call duties. Oral and maxillofacial
surgery (OMFS) rotators contribute during the day, enhancing the
educational experience. Qualifications A valid medical license to
practice in New York State. Experience with block placement in
upper and lower extremities is preferred but not mandatory. Must be
board eligible or certified in Anesthesiology. Fellowship training
is a plus. Compensation and Benefits: Annual Base Salary: $421,000*
(board eligible) ; $431,000* (board certified) based on a 40-hour
work week. Additional compensation is available for extra call or
sessional/per diem hours. The total estimated annual compensation
package ranges from $600,000 (board eligible) to $610,000 (board
certified) , which includes base salary, fringe benefits,
sessional/per diem hours, and other factors outlined below:
Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem
hours worked per week is $104,000. Projected bonus potential of up
to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon
achieving quality and productivity benchmarks. 401(k) Company
Contribution (subject to IRS limits): Employees are immediately
vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings, with no
employee match required. After one year of service, employees
receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings,
with no employee match required. Annual Continuing Medical
Education (CME) reimbursement. Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO)
including vacation, sick leave, holidays, and CME days.
Comprehensive Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Premium
plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D)
Coverage: Equivalent to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of
$300,000) at no cost to you. Optional employee-paid Voluntary Life
and AD&D coverage available for you and your family. Loan
Forgiveness: This position may qualify for loan forgiveness through
specific state or federal programs. Medical Malpractice Coverage
(equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the
employee. Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts
(FSAs). Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses.
