Job Description Certification Details - BLS - CRRN Med/Surg -
NYS RN License Job Details - Clinical Nurse is a Registered
Professional Nurse providing safe, competent quality care based on
nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and
significant others. - Delivers patient care incorporating
Relationship Centered Care and nursing process based on theory,
research, evidence-based practice, and organizational nursing
standards. - Assesses and evaluates patient care needs applying
critical thinking skills in patient care management. - Integrates
relevant assessment and intervention skills in nursing care
delivery. - Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare team in
plan of care development, implementation, and evaluation. -
Prioritizes patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching,
planning after hospital care, and delegating as appropriate. -
Educates patients and caregivers about plan of care, transition of
care, health promotion, and disease prevention. - Communicates
effectively and professionally with patients, family, and
interdisciplinary team members. - Manages assignments within
Modified Primary Nursing Care Delivery Model and allocates material
resources effectively. - Role models Mount Sinai Relationship
Centered Care through various patient care actions such as
Admission Welcome, Bedside shift Report, HELP AM/PM Care,
Purposeful Hourly Rounding, Medication Review, Discharge Wrap Up,
and MD/RN Unit Collaboration. - Considers patient's values,
preferences, cultural diversity, expressed needs, and knowledge in
care. - Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships with
patients and families. - Uses evidence-based practices to
understand patients' perceptions of care. - Initiates service
recovery for patient and family concerns and escalates as needed. -
Demonstrates caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active
listening. - Supports staff use of evidence-based practices to
understand patients' perceptions of care. - Conducts Purposeful
Hourly Rounding addressing the 4 Ps. - Practices safe and efficient
patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and
opportunities for improvement. - Demonstrates clinical skills and
knowledge crucial to quality and safety in patient population
served. - Implements process improvement strategies based on
institutional, evidence-based procedures. - Engages in peer and
institutional review processes. - Collaborates with
interdisciplinary teams on quality improvement projects,
evidence-based practice activities, and nursing research studies. -
Contributes to quality and safety practices and compliance
measures. - Implements principles of high reliability to avoid high
risk behaviors and provide a safe environment. - Escalates
potential safety hazards or gaps following institutional chain of
command. - Utilizes institutional information technology for
nursing documentation supporting quality and performance
improvement. - Performs charge nurse duties as assigned. -
Coordinates with management to ensure appropriate supply
utilization and inventory for patient care. - Escalates material or
staffing resource deficits to appropriate management. -
Demonstrates patient-focused and cost-effective approaches to
patient care resources. - Documents accurately and thoroughly in
compliance with hospital, regulatory, and legal requirements and
standards of care. - Facilitates patient throughput on shift basis.

colleagues, patients, families, and healthcare team members. -
Advances clinical competence in nursing practice from novice to
expert. - Projects professional image and communicates with caring,

- Participates in shared decision making through specialty practice
councils, nursing department committees, and unit initiatives. Job
Requirements - NYS RN License required. - BLS certification
required. - CRRN Med/Surg certification required. - Minimum 2 years
rehab and med/surg experience required. - Minimum 2 years RN
experience required. - 1 year travel experience required for Travel
positions (not required for Per Diem positions). - EPIC experience
highly preferred. Schedule Information - 3x12 hour shifts schedule.
- Weekends required. Unit Specific Information - Med Surg/Rehab
