Job Opportunity – Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) RN – Pennsylvania Start Date: March 2, 2026 Location: Hazleton, Pennsylvania Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend requirement; patient ratios range from 1:1 to 3:1 depending on acuity; floating required as needed Highlights: Work in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit with an adult patient population, primarily age 50 and above Manageable 12-bed unit with daily census averaging 6 patients Epic charting system utilized for electronic medical records Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, physical therapy, and social services 12-hour orientation provided to ensure smooth onboarding Opportunity to work with critically ill patients requiring advanced care management Requirements: Active Pennsylvania or Compact RN license required at time of submission Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; Surgical Intensive Care Unit experience strongly preferred Current ACLS and BLS certifications required Epic charting system experience required Demonstrated competency in management of dysrhythmias, arterial line management, central line care, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, and ETT/NT suctioning Experience with isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered) PA fingerprinting and background clearance required Requested time off must be submitted at time of application Why It's a Great Opportunity: This Surgical ICU position offers the chance to provide high-quality, specialized care to critically ill adult patients in a supportive environment with strong interdisciplinary collaboration.
