will be offered to well-qualified candidates. Join Midstate
Radiology Associates (MRA) as a Full Time, 1st Shift,
Interventional Radiology Technologist at MidState Medical Center in
Meriden. Position Schedule: Mon, Tue, Thur & Fri, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM
on-call rotation every 4th week/weekend (schedule is subject to

-opportunities Compensation: MRA offers competitive starting
compensation based on qualifications and experience. The
compensation range for this position is between $31.00 and $54.00
per hour. Key Accountabilities: 1. Maintain competence in all
procedure and equipment set-ups 2. Capable of using skill set to
work in other environments (off the floor, Hybrid OR, CT, US,
Fluoro) 3. Documentation within EMR 4. Ordering inventory as
appropriate 5. General knowledge of procedure coding 6. Proficient
at patient care: dressing changes, toileting, 7. Independent
room/tray set-up 8. Adhere to infection prevention and radiation
safety protocols 9. Familiar with hospital policies and protocols
as they relate to the department 10. Proficient use of SECTRA/PACS
11. Provide training and implementation of any new
equipment/upgrade 12. Collaborate with radiology staff members,
outpatient referring and interdisciplinary hospital staff. 13.
Maintain levels of inventory and orders appropriately 14. Aware of
budget and practices with cost-effective mentality 15. Ongoing
evaluation of necessity of supplies and equipment 16. Facilitation
of daily workflow and frequent review processes for effectiveness
17. Assists with student as directed 18. Maintains clinical
proficiency and annual health stream. Participates in the
department quality, safety and compliance initiatives. 19.
Demonstrates competencies, including knowledge and behaviors to
meet age specific patient needs (e.g. Pediatric, Adolescents, and
Geriatrics) and cultural diversity. Works effectively as team
member within the department and other units to provide quality
service through pertinent knowledge, communication, cooperation and
collaboration. Work to supervise Radiology students and new hires
as needed. 20. Operates IR equipment to produce accurate images
while maintaining sterile technique. Assembles sterile trays and
assumes scrub duties as necessary. Accurately documents procedure
performed. Verify correct orders and relevant history in the
patient’s chart. 21. Performs diagnostic and therapeutic
interventional procedures by selecting the correct exposure factors
utilizing the assessment of patient age, pathology and diagnosis to
produce technically accurate digital images to assist the
radiologist in diagnosing. Work with students. 22. Accurately
inputs procedural information into electronic medical record, RIS
and PACS to capture necessary information regarding exams, supply
charges, resource allocations, radiation exposure as well as all
relevant clinical information. 23. Obtains all relevant patient
information, including but not limited to, current lab values,
medication usage, ensuring reason for exam is concordant with exam
request in order to perform the appropriate exam, on the correct
patient, to procure an accurate diagnosis. 24. Explain procedures
to patients and addresses their concerns. Utilizes ALARA principals
and appropriate infection control techniques to ensure a safe work
environment. 25. Appropriately maintains exam rooms, supplies and
equipment according to performance standards. Maintains area
supplies and reports equipment malfunctions. Performs and documents
quality assurance testing on equipment according to established
protocols to maintain high performance of the system. Transports
patients as necessary. Qualifications Guidelines: Education
Required: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Graduate AMA
approved radiology program. • Registered with American Registry of
Radiological Technologists (ARRT) • CT state license. • CPR
certification may be required. • Maintenance of continuing
education credits as required by licensure. • Individual exceptions
may apply only under the discretion of the Medical and
Administrative Director Desirable: • At least one year’s experience
as an Interventional Radiology technologist • Associates or Applied
Science Degree in related field. Knowledge: • Working knowledge
applicable to radiological technology with specific references to
anatomy, medical and surgical disease, and scientific principles as
applied to radiological technology. • Patients care standards and
requirements. • Quality assurance principles and practices. •
Customer service principles and practices. • OSHA principles and
practices. • TJC standards of practice. Skills/Abilities: • Operate
and adjust radiological equipment. • Schedule, organize and monitor
patient flow to meet company productivity, quality, health and
safety standards. • Communicate effectively with patients,
relatives, medical staff and co-workers. • Venipunctures
certificate (where applicable). • Maintain the confidentiality of
patient records. • Schedule, organize and complete work in
accordance with required workloads. • Read, interpret and follow
internal quality standards and government regulations. • Understand
and follow specifications and instructions. • Ability to react
calmly and effectively in emergencies. • Capable of maintaining
basic life support (CPR). Special Conditions: May be required to
rotate on weekend and/or holiday schedule. May be required to cover
ancillary offices, as needed. OSHA Class 1 exposure to Bloodborne
Pathogens. May involve physical lifting and/or walking. Our team at
