Telemetry Tech Location: Astoria, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,662 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 7 hours Contract Duration: 9 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Telemetry Technician Profession: Technician Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 9 months Shift: 7AM - 3PM or 3PM - 11PM, 5 days per week, possible weekends Hours per Shift: 7.5 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required in a telemetry or monitor tech role License: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Certifications: Dysrhythmia certification required, EKG certification preferred Must-Have: Experience working directly as a Telemetry Technician or Monitor Tech Description: Provide advanced ECG monitoring while assessing patient status through ECG strip analysis and arrhythmia interpretation. Identify and respond to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes. Initiate codes and record rhythms during codes. Perform continuous EKG monitoring with accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias. Troubleshoot monitoring problems and appropriately respond to all monitor alarms. Perform electrocardiograms in multiple settings, including proper electrode placement. Communicate clearly and appropriately with charge nurses, co-workers, and physicians. Enter and verify orders in the computer system. Retrieve laboratory results from the computer system and bring results to the attention of the charge nurse. Ensure documentation meets current standards and organizational policies. Manage and operate monitoring and medical equipment safely and correctly.
