Job Description:

PowerBack Rehabilitation, a leader in post-hospital rehabilitation, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) for our school-based program. This unique position requires a blend of skills aimed at supporting children's educational environments through specialized rehabilitation services. The role focuses on enabling students to overcome limitations and reach their full potential by integrating therapeutic practices with educational goals. As part of our team, you will assist in developing individualized plans that cater to each student’s specific needs, following surgeries, injuries, or illnesses that affect their school performance. Evaluate students’ functional abilities and collaborate with educational staff to determine their needs. Develop and implement rehabilitative programs that support educational outcomes. Assess classroom environments and recommend adaptations to enhance student participation and performance. Provide direct therapy based on the established Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Educate school staff and families about student disabilities and occupational therapy strategies. Maintain documentation of student progress and therapy outcomes. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review and adjust educational plans. Strong understanding of pediatric occupational therapy Ability to create and execute individualized therapy plans Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Expertise in disability assessment and adaptation Proficiency in documenting treatments and outcomes Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Valid state Occupational Therapy License NBCOT certification preferred Experience with special education and IEP processes is a plus
