For more information, visit .Current NeedTo support our continued growth in the Government Space, McKesson is seeking an experienced Sr. Manager, Federal Proposals to lead our McKesson Medical-Surgical Government Solutions' (MMSGS) Federal ProposalTeam in Richmond, VA.Position SummaryTo support our continued growth in the Government Space, McKesson is seeking an experienced Sr. Manager, Federal Proposals to lead our McKesson Medical-Surgical Government Solutions' (MMSGS) Federal Proposal Team. This people leader role will lead a team of Proposal Specialists & Sales Support Personnel who are responsible for managing, coordinating, and facilitating all phases of the company's proposal process in response to U.S. Government Requests including RFIs, Sources Sought, RFQs, and RFPs. The ability to meet deadlines, analyze requirements, develop winning strategies, a commitment to teamwork, and detailed follow-through are key to success in this role.Key ResponsibilitiesLeads the proposal team and manages the entire proposal development process from solicitation through contract/award while maintaining ongoing communication of proposal status with team members and adhering to internal and external deadlines. Establish and manage effective processes for Federal Lead Generation & DIBBS Fast Quotes. Reviews/analyzes proposal sections for consistency and clarity, compliance with solicitation requirements, and writes/re-writes proposal sections as necessary. Works collaboratively with a large cross-functional team including Sales, Legal, Regulatory, Finance, Compliance, Customer Service, Supplier Management and Operations to increase our success with Federal Opportunities. Ensures compliance with all government and corporate policies and procedures and immediately escalates any risk to the company or issues of concern.Minimum QualificationsDegree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 9+ years of professional experience and 1+ year of supervisory and/or management experience.Critical Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with the competitive procurement processes in government acquisition, including Federal procurement regulations and proposals
  • Working knowledge of government contracting concepts, including Federal Acquisition Regulation and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement
  • 3+ years management/supervisory experience in a Government Proposal Role
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal customers as well as external customer representatives, including contracting officers and specialistsAdditional Skills
    • Must be able to thrive in high pressure, fast paced work environment with strict deadlines
    • A positive, collegial attitude and high level of professionalism are essential
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
    • Excellent judgement, integrity, and the highest ethical standards
    • High proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite as well as Adobe Acrobat and TEAMSEducation4-year degree in Business, Communication or Liberal Arts preferred. HS diploma required.Additional Desired Certifications
