Osteria Morini, regarded as one of the premier and most authentic Italian restaurants in New York City, features the soulful cuisine and convivial spirit of the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy. Emilia-Romagna, known as \"the Italian Breadbasket\", is the birthplace of many of the flavors and ingredients associated with Italian cuisine worldwide: prosciutto, mortadella, parmigiano, and balsamic vinegar. Open since 2010 and situated in the heart of Soho in Manhattan, Osteria Morini features battilardo (savory cured meats and cheeses), signature and award-winning Chef Michael White pastas, and a distinctive steak and grilled meats program. With an authentic spirit in mind, Osteria Morini is created with components from an Italian 1700s-era farmhouse to create a genuinely vibrant and convivial experience, with the semi-open kitchen enabling guests to observe the action and chefs preparing food.We are actively seeking talented and entrepreneurial individuals who share our passion for excellent food and hospitality and desire to work in a fun and team-oriented environment. Under the leadership and training of Chefs Michael White, Bill Dorrler, and Andrew Minitelli, selected individuals have an excellent opportunity to gain deep knowledge of and experience with Italian cuisine.Responsibilities include For Sous Chef :Oversee, execute and train daily culinary production - prep and production of all menu items, maintain consistent food quality and presentation, inspect quality and freshness of food items, and follow/teach recipes and preparation techniquesLearn and manage all the kitchen stations: pasta, saute, garde manger and grillUse cutting-edge cooking techniques and state-of-the-art equipment to continue learning and refining culinary skillsMaintain clean and organized kitchen at all times, as part of maintaining proper and safe work environment and complying with all health and safety regulationsHandle and manage food purchasing and inventory as well as staff labor and schedulingInteract with fellow colleagues, management and restaurant guests with positive and professional demeanorRequirements include For Sous Chef :Experience serving at a quality full-service restaurant as Sous Chef or as experienced line cook seeking to advance culinary career to next levelKnowledge and experience with Italian cuisine preferredWillingness to learn and take direction from Chefs and other executive managementHighly organized, efficient, and able to work in a fast-paced, high volume environmentResponsible and respectful team player and leaderGreat work ethic and consistently committed to excellence and career developmentResponsibilities include For Line Cook:- Work the line through busy services- Keeping a clean and organized work station- Making sure station is stocked before and after each shiftRequirements Include For Line Cook:- One or more years of line experience in a NYC restaurant- Candidates should be highly organized, efficient, and be able to work precisely- Willingness to learn and take direction from Chef- Considerable working knowledge of food preparationWe offer medical, dental, and vision benefits after 90 days of employment for full time employees.
