Job Description:

The primary purpose of this role is to provide hands-on, in the aisle product knowledge, project, and sales training to store sales associates who interface directly with customers on a daily basis. This includes identifying and leveraging relevant existing content and determining appropriate delivery methods based on the desired customer experience and the needs of the associates. Training will be focused on associates new to role as well as programs, processes and products introduced to the stores on an ongoing basis. With ongoing interaction and discussion with both the store staff and leadership team, this role will be constantly identifying/assessing training needs and administering established new hire and onboarding training programs (e.g., Red Vest Ready) to fulfill those needs. Delivery of training includes both individual one-on-one associate training as well as group training workshops. To be successful in this role, the person must be knowledgeable of products sold in the stores and have the understanding for how to apply and use the products and tools to complete basic home improvement projects on homes that are regulated by NYC building codes. The person must translate this knowledge into training that sets associates up for successful service and sales interactions with customers. This role works closely with the store leadership teams from both NYC stores as well as the Manager of Contact Center Process and Operations to ensure that training integrates with the store selling systems where appropriate. This role also works closely with store HR staff to schedule and coordinate training events with individuals and groups. This position will provide training to associates in both NYC based retail stores. In addition to primary training responsibilities, this role will facilitate regular (e.g., weekly/monthly) learning clinics/workshops for customers.
