Description Job Description The Employment Skills Coordinator (ESC) is responsible for supporting individuals in their efforts to seek and maintain employment.The ESC provides training, evaluations, and support to individuals at job sites and in the community, as well as develops and implements applicable vocational training curricula as part of a vital team responsible for developing person-centered plans.The ESC is responsible for developing employment opportunities and for following up on job leads.The ESC must have excellent customer service skills to develop and maintain productive relationships with individuals, families, employers, individuals co-workers and volunteer community sites.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES? Assists service team in development of person-centered plans, focusing on supporting individuals in gaining employment based on their interests.?Collaborates with individuals and others to develop and implement individualized supports in professional manner, building on individual strengths, choices and capabilities.?Assesses individuals and assists them in developing appropriate skills and work behaviors. ?Develops job opportunities for individuals based upon strengths and preferences. ?Develops relationships with community sources to ensure applicable opportunities for individuals. Ensures positive employer/community relationships.?Travels to job and other community sites to train, supervise and support individuals. Evaluates and implements skills training processes. ?Conducts full range of employment supports, from travel training and/or transportation to extended job support (including transportation of individuals in agency vehicles, if necessary). ?Provides ongoing individual support and hands-on instruction in performing job tasks, with ongoing assessment of individuals progress. ?Completes Enhanced Supported Employment plans, as well as all other related paper work. ?Develops and maintains ongoing relationships with individuals, employers, service coordinators, families, day programs, etc. ?Provides ongoing follow-up services to individuals, as needed. Refers individuals to appropriate community resources, as necessary. ?Attends staff meetings as required.?Performs all related duties, as needed.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS?Bachelors Degree in field of education, human services or counseling required, along with one year related experience in working with developmentally disabled populations highly desired.Must have valid New York State Drivers License, driven for at least one year, and able to drive a van as necessary.Mon- Fri position but we ask for Flexibility.Salary 30,000 plus full comprehensive family benefitsEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
