With a focus exclusively on trailers, 17,000 in fleet nationwide, CTL offers unmatched service and expertise to our customers.INTERESTED APPLICANTS - PLEASE SUBMIT COVER LETTER WITH SALARY REQUIREMENTS ALONG WITH RESUMEBenefits - HR & Payroll SpecialistCTL employees receive a substantial and competitive benefits package that includes:Competitive SalaryMedical/Dental/VisionPaid time off401KEMPLOYEE STOCK OWNERSHIP/ESOPAnnual Bonus Job Description - HR & Payroll SpecialistThe Human Resources & Payroll Specialist will run the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, processing payroll, administering benefits, and enforcing company policies and practices.Responsibilities - HR & Payroll SpecialistPayroll:-- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.-- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.-- Prepare and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions-- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices-- Prepare payroll reports for the Finance Department and audit purposes on a weekly basis-- Create monthly journal entries to reconcile to general ledger-- Calculate and verify necessary payroll accruals, including monthly accruals, pension accruals and contribution accruals-- Prepare Union reports and process payments for dues, pension, and dental/vision premiumsHuman Resources: -- Complete employment verification requests, unemployment forms, and government agency notices-- Oversee employee life cycle, including (but not limited to): Recruiting, Onboarding and Training processes-- Administer termination process, exit interviews, offboarding, COBRA-- Updates and maintains electronic employee records -- Monitors benefits enrollments; Reviews and reconciles PTO-- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.-- Assist HR Director with various projects and duties as assigned

Required Experience and Qualifications - HR & Payroll Specialist -- Bachelor's Degree required-- Minimum 5 years of HR experience preferred-- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality-- Strong command of HRIS; Paylocity preferred-- Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office, and Outlook -- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills, as well as negotiation and conflict resolution skills-- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail-- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.-- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate-- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulationsPhysical RequirementsThis position requires long periods of time on the phone and in front of a computer, using a keyboard and mouse or pad. The person must be able to understand the speech of another person and speak clearly so others can understand. While the position can be done remotely, it will require travel to the corporate office for training, and as business needs dictate.
