Overview

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) function partners with senior management and Business Groups to dvance and support the Bank's culture of excellence by fostering an engaged and motivated staff. This is achieved through an organizational framework to recruit, develop, compensate, reward and retain the Bank's employees by designing, communicating and executing effective programs; ensuring compliance with applicable laws; adhering to best practices; and providing timely and accurate information for staff, managers and senior leaders.

Job Summary

This role works closely with Lead Human Resources Business Partners to deliver HR programs and advice on human capital matters, initiatives and policies to assigned business groups. Key responsibilities include providing guidance and support on employee relations, talent management, performance management, talent acquisition, compensation and ensuring functional excellence for HR initiatives, processes and transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Lead HR Business Partners ("HRBPs") to provide HR advice and services on all human capital initiatives and support assigned businesses in executing their strategic human capital vision
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues in specialty areas such as Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards and HR Operations in order to effectively execute on core people processes and tool
  • Act as primary point of contact for all levels of management and employees in assigned business areas to provide guidance on HR programs and initiatives
  • As directed by the Lead HRBPs, work closely with Talent Management and assigned businesses on process implementation of Annual Performance and Talent Management Processes including: goal setting, talent reviews, promotions and performance appraisals
  • Handle various types of employee relations matters and develop solutions in collaboration with the Lead HRBPs and Corporate Affairs. This may include progressive disciplinary documentation, participating and leading internal investigations, intake and resolution of employee issues and concerns, and providing consultation and advice to employees and management
  • Manage outreach to new hires during the on-boarding process for assigned businesses, as needed
  • Conduct exit interviews for assigned businesses, create notes from exit meetings and identify trends through exit data and analysis; Generate reports and conduct analysis on talent needs, trends, and best practices by researching data and providing recommendations that address business needs and align with the Bank's talent strategy.
  • Conduct annual compensation and promotion processes for assigned businesses by providing counsel and assistance with recommendations, implementation and consistency of approach
  • Serve as a team member on HR cross-group projects and HRBP team project. Job Requirement

    • 7+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner or Generalist
    • Effective relationship management skills with a focus on superior client service and strong influencing skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a consultative approach in client interaction
    • Proven ability to multi-task, manage short and long term projects and work in a collaborative team environment
    • Strong sense of urgency and creative problem solving skills
    • Ability to work independently; self-starter; proactive
    • Experience conducting analyses on a variety of HR- related issues (e.g., staffing trends, retention, and compliance reports), researching data and producing recommendations that persuade and influence decision-makers
    • Strong analytical skills and PC skills including intermediate to advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Solid judgment and ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion at all times
