Interim: Visual Producer and Web Designer for Digital Futures InstituteApply now (https://secure.dc4.pageuppeople.com/apply/677/gateway/default.aspx?c=apply&lJobID=508192&lJobSourceTypeID=796&sLanguage=en-us) Job no:508192Position type:InterimLocation:New YorkCategories:Arts, Education/Instructional, Information Systems/TechnologyPosting Summary:The Visual Producer and Web Designer will create original illustrations and/or graphics in collaboration with members of the DFI media team as part of ongoing media projects supporting public scholarship, pedagogy and research at Teachers College. They will also work on visual design for media projects and support design elements of related materials such as websites, cover art, and other aspects of media work through DFI. They will contribute to deepening the support for media work at Teachers College. They may also be asked to work on media projects in a flexible capacity, and other media skills and experience are a plus.The Visual Producer and Web Designer will create original illustrations and/or graphics as part of media productions supporting public scholarship, research and pedagogy at DFI. They will also be asked to design web layouts and elements, produce graphic designs, and otherwise assist with media projects. They may also support faculty and DFI staff in producing marketing, outreach, research, pedagogical and other materials through graphic design, illustration, and other aspects of production. For example, they may support a series of short videos from TC Scholars by creating original illustrations to act as a digital storyboard, or b-roll, to accompany and contribute to those videos. They may then also design a website to host those videos and supporting materials. Motion graphics and animation are a plus but not a requirement to apply.The Visual Producer and Web Designer must:

  • Share skills and knowledge with those less experienced with them - must have patience, professionalism, and willingness to share and support others.
  • Be open to feedback and have willingness to revise and change work according to feedbackMinimum Qualifications:
    • Proficient in illustration and/or graphic design, including digital methods, with portfolio demonstrating work. A portfolio and/or work samples will be requested as part of the interview process.
    • You may include a link to a portfolio or work samples as part of the application, but please ensure work and surrounding materials do not include images of yourself.
    • Willingness to learn new digital tools as needed
