Our teams leverage big data insights, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and disruptive product development while capitalizing on engineering, clinical, and scientific innovations to build innovative health solutions. -If you are located within New York, NY, Seattle, WA or Minneapolis, MN,- you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges..-Primary Responsibilities:-- Actively participate in on-call rotation, when not on call improve operational tooling, frameworks, perform chaos engineering activities.--- Perform root cause analysis and deliver resolution for tools and automation failures.-- Build frameworks that test the performance and resiliency of our platform services/tools-- Build/administer systems and tools that enable engineering teams to observe their applications in production with autonomy (Dashboards, APMs)-- Automate alerts for metrics on performance, cost, vulnerabilities, risk, compliance violations-- Identify and measure SLOs, SLAs and SLIs-- Improve processes/runbooks and champion automation of any manual items around support- Software engineering is the application of engineering to the design, development, implementation, testing and maintenance of software in a systematic method. The roles in this function will cover all primary development activity across all technology functions that ensure we deliver code with high quality for our applications, products and services and to understand customer needs and to develop product roadmaps.-These roles include, but are not limited to analysis, design, coding, engineering, testing, debugging, standards, methods, tools analysis, documentation, research and development, maintenance, new development, operations, and delivery. This also includes evaluating new tools, new techniques, strategies; Automation of common tasks; build of common utilities to drive organizational efficiency with a passion around technology and solutions and influence of thought and leadership on future capabilities and opportunities to apply technology in new and innovative ways.--You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 1+ of experience years in a role of supporting software and/or cloud-infrastructure in an on-call rotation basis to help with identification and remediation of technical problems at the root cause
  • In-depth and proactive communication skills around status of projects/issues
  • Proven track record of leading the delivery of large-scale, high-quality systems-Preferred Qualifications:
    • 3+ years of experience leading a team of SREs
    • 3+ years implementing dashboards to help teams visualize logs, instrumentation and other data to ensure optimal performance of the applications-and/or infra
    • 2+ years of experience integrating monitoring and alerting into cloud software solutions
    • Experience creating runbooks, processes, and test plans around reliability, performance, etc. of infra/applications
    • Experience planning and supporting +99.99% availability against critical applications in production
    • Exceptional communication skills
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Highly organized individual

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
