We are also highly-ranked by Castle Connolly Medical, a healthcare rating company for consumers, among the top 5 leading U.S. medical schools for training doctors.Bargaining Unit:UUPJob Summary:The Information Services/Academic Computing Department at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Supervising Programmer Analyst. The successful candidate will:Be Knowledgeable of the SCT Banner functional area processes and capable of providing quality end-user consultation and support.Maintain all tracking and issue logging.Evaluate and adjust, where appropriate, the SCT Banner setup tables relative to the client business practices.Provide good business process and change management documentation.Provide leadership for functional workgroups enabling them to stay on time and on-tasks.Service as Data Custodian for modular setup tables.Serve as a cross-module integration coordinator to assist in the resolution of cross-module issues.Prepare design specifications for conversion, reporting, interfaces, and customizations.Provide guidance in the formulation and coordination of an End-User training strategy, and when appropriate, deliver such training.Provide direction in developing testing methodology and test scripts for utilization during upgrades and patch application.Direct activities, test, and review the work of other team analysts.Provide project management, leadership, needs assessment, integration services, and develop a strong working relationship with the user/client.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related area.Banner application consulting and knowledge of relational database reporting tools including PL/SQL, Crystal Reports, Oracle Reports, and Forms.Must work well in a team, with strong communication, and problem-solving skills.Preferred Qualifications:A minimum of 3-5 years of technical software implementation experience in higher education.A minimum of 2-years of supervisory experience, in a computing environment.Work Schedule:Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Salary Grade/Rank:SL 5Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.Equal Employment Opportunity Statement:SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer, and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, creed, age, disability, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, familial status, pregnancy, predisposing genetic characteristics, military status, domestic violence victim status, criminal conviction, and all other protected classes under federal or state laws.Women, minorities, veterans, individualswith disabilities, and members of underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.If you are an individual with a disability and need a reasonable accommodation for any part of the application process, or in order to perform the essential functions of a position, please contactHuman Resources at 718-270-3025.
