What about Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR)
special projects? Sound interesting? If so, then Jacobs has a great
opportunity for you as an Embedded Software Engineer.
This opportunity is in our Special Projects Division (SPD). SPD is
a rapidly growing group within the Rapid Solutions business unit of
Jacobs. This division has a small company atmosphere where you can
solve challenging problems, expand your abilities, and advance your
career.
The Embedded Software Engineer will support embedded software
design and test. Tasking may include:
Perform C/C++ embedded firmware development.
Make use of C and C++11 language constructs and patterns.
Use requirements to analyze, design, and implement functional
needs.
Write unit tests using Google test framework.
Write bash and python scripts.
Interface with FPGA devices and Windows GUI or web server.
Coordinate with hardware engineers to develop requirements and test
engineers to build and configure tests. Work in a Scrum environment
using Atlassian tools, and participate in daily standups, weekly
sprint planning, and PR code reviews.
Here's What You'll Need:
Required :
Five years embedded firmware development.
Five years C/C++ development.
Five years' experience with low level device drivers such as UART,
I2C, SPI, CAN, ADC, DAC, etc.
Past development of engineering applications that make use of
physical principles and mathematical methods.
Experience with board support packages.
Experience with RTOS such as Keil RTX.
Ability to read schematics.
U.S. Citizenship
Must be willing and able to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred :
Bachelor's degree or higher in Physics, Math, Electrical or
Computer Engineering, or Computer Science. Experience with Xilinx
or MicroSemi FPGAs.
Experience with Windows GUI.
Understanding of RF concepts.
Willingness to quickly learn new technologies and aspects of the
job.
Self-starter who takes initiative and solves problems on own.
Communicates well in personal interactions and in writing.
Active security clearance.
