Software Quality Engineer

What we are looking for:
Computer savvy individual that likes to find problems, and figure
out why the problem happened. Then works effectively with others to
drive quality solutions to the problems reported.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science strongly preferred.
Degrees in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or other
disciplines may be considered.
- Candidates with an Associate's Degree and 1-3 years of related
experience may be considered
- Ability to work onsite in Conklin, NY on a daily basis.
- Ability to perform manual testing of our capital equipment.
Technical skills:
- Ability to create and execute test procedures that ensure the
software functions per as expected
- Experience with defect tracking and management tools like
Jira.
- Experience creating test cases and test plans
- Critical thinking, including understanding assumptions
- Modeling things in terms of cause and effect
- Read and interpret written documents
- Software and hardware literate Communication Skills:
- Comfort with asking questions
- Argue logically, clearly and with self confidence
- Able to use verbal and written skills to clearly describe
technical scenarios Attitude:
- Joyful learner
- Passion for improvement
- Comfort with doing things that are difficult
- Accommodates change with a good attitude People skills:
- Enjoys helping others and able to accept help from others
- Deal with people (including difficult ones) in a cooperative
fashion
- Understanding customers (empathy)

Quality Procedures or Direct Product Quality:
- Adheres to Universal Quality System policies and procedures and
uses Total Cycle Time principles and standard problem solving tools
to continuously improve work processes. Physical Demands:
- Requires the ability to use a computer on a frequent
basis.
- May remain stationary for extended periods, but needs to be
mobile enough to navigate through work areas.
