Overview of the OrganizationEnterprise Risk Technology (ERT) is part of Citi's Institutional Clients Group (ICG) Markets Technology organization. ERT delivers innovative engineering solutions to Data Management, Analytics, Monitoring, and Reporting problems for the investment bank's Counterparty Credit Risk, Market Risk and Regulatory Capital user communities globally. Clients include Risk managers, Trading desks, Financial controllers and various regulatory reporting groups across the globe. The scale and complexity of the applications in the stack require the use of advanced technologies to manage very large data sets, horizontally scalable, massively parallel compute and data processing architecture, and business Intelligence tools to provide drill downs.Overview of the roleERT is looking for a Global Head for its Engineering and Architecture Practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the ICG Technology strategy for ERT. They will work closely with various teams within ERT, the ICG engineering and architecture practice, and Citi-wide infrastructure groups to lay out and execute a continuous Tech modernization roadmap adopting industry and Citi best practices. A good understanding of the boarder industry as well as direct competitors' products and services will be necessary to effectively deliver the objectives of the business. The candidate will need to demonstrate robust hands-on engineering skills and a track record of successful delivery of engineering solutions to complex problems in their chosen domain. Excellent communication skills will be required to negotiate internally, often at a very senior levels of the firm, to obtain the desired outcomes.Responsibilities:

• Provide architectural vision for all the systems in the ERT stack, ensuring that architecture conforms to enterprise blueprints.
• Develop architecture, strategy and plan solutions on an enterprise level. Interface across multiple channels, acting as a visionary to proactively assist in defining direction for future projects.
• Maintain continuous awareness of business, technical and infrastructure issues, and act as a consultant to aid in the development of creative solutions.
• Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across the firm to drive technology strategy.
• Interface and negotiate with vendors to assess their technology offerings, driving POCs for ERT use cases. Influence vendor product roadmap based on Citi requirements where it's in Citi's interests.
• Manage an architecture functional area. Evaluate team performance and make recommendations for pay increases, promotions, terminations, and other personnel actions.
• Impact ERT technology function through responsibility for planning, finances/budget, end results, setting policies and contribution to strategic decisions.Competencies
  • Exhibit sound understanding of theories and practices in architecture in multiple related areas.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of Big Data, Grid Computing, Data Warehousing, Cloud Computing, and programming languages such as Java and Python.
  • Deep knowledge of how technology integrates within the organization and of direct competitors' products and services.
