Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent
practical experience. 8 years of experience in software
development. 5 years of experience in observability and helping
developers and operators manage Cloud systems. 3 years of
experience in a technical leadership role. 2 years of experience in
a people management or team leadership role. Preferred
qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or
related technical field. 3 years of experience working in a
complex, matrixed organization. 3 years of experience with
platforms, on-call support rotation or infrastructure development,
including collaborating with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)

Engineering Manager you manage your project goals, contribute to

technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across
multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee
the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites
internationally. Cloud Observability develops products and services
in the areas of monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting and
application troubleshooting. We provide the tools for thousands of
Google Cloud customers to monitor and troubleshoot their
applications and help increase reliability associated with their
products. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead

salary range for this full-time position is $207,000-$300,000 bonus
equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level,
and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by
work location and additional factors, including job-related skills,
experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can

more about benefits at Google . Responsibilities Lead and manage a
strong engineering team to build alerting products and effectively
deliver impact by coaching, mentoring, and helping team members
grow and shape the culture of the team, promoting a team that
values psychological safety. Lead the team to develop Service Level
Objective (SLO) monitoring, application centric observability for
alerting, for active usage within Cloud alerting, broader adoption
within Google Cloud Platform internal teams, and help our customers
manage their cloud environments. Collaborate with product managers
and engineering leads to define the goal, strategy, and future
roadmap for the team, balancing new investments with reliability
and technical debt reduction. Design, guide and vet systems designs
within the scope of the broader area, and write product or system
development code to solve ambiguous problems.
