LITIGATION COUNSEL, AMERICAS
Avis Budget Group's Legal Department seeks a skilled litigator with at least 8 years' experience to manage a nationwide litigation caseload in a wide variety of areas that include: consumer-oriented litigation (including class actions); general commercial litigation; regulatory inquiries; insurance coverage; and employment matters. The successful candidate must have a proven ability to favorably resolve high exposure matters in an efficient manner.
This position will be based at Avis Budget Group's World Headquarters in Parsippany, New Jersey, and is not eligible for remote work. This position reports to Avis Budget Group's Vice President, Legal - Americas.

What you'll do:
Manage all facets of ligation including investigation, developing and implementing company strategy, accurately assessing exposure, and delivering successful results
Establish accurate litigation budgets on each matter
Ensuring that outside counsel provide services in an efficient and cost effective manner
Ensure that management is fully informed on all material case developments
Monitors legal and litigation trends and provides practical and usable risk mitigation guidance
Coordinates with ABG's compliance team to develop and implement field training as is necessary to reduce risk
Supervises ABG paralegals in responding to subpoenas, small claims matters and general customer complaints
Able to provide assistance to the ABG legal department on an as needed basis on general operational and contractual matters
Maintains a positive upbeat attitude, treats all customers, clients, and fellow employees with respect

What we're looking for:
Law license in good standing in at least one state in the United States of America
8+ years litigation experience at a reputable law firm(s)

Skills and abilities you should have:
First chair jury trial experience a plus
Prior judicial clerkship with civil litigation judge preferred
Excellent PC skills including all Microsoft Office Applications
