Position Overview Support Senior Director in daily functions by participating in all phases of design development. Interface closely with Product Development, Technical Design and Merchandising. Essential Duties & Responsibilities SKETCHING /DESIGN: - Illustrator + photoshop (CADS) color ways of seasonal ideas. - Attend initial seasonal design kick off meetings to understand direction of line. - Assist team in building seasonal design boards including reference garments, fabrics, trims, logos, color standards, wash standards. HAND-OFFS: - Research trim and logo options for design selection working with appropriate departments - Follow up for trim and logo approvals and get ID#'s for tech packs - Hand off Graphics and Prints to Fabric and Graphics Team and follow up on approvals - Create detailed Illustrator sketches for technical packages - Generate sketch modifications/updates as needed DESIGN/ PRE-FIT: - Support Senior Design Director with the preparation of garments for technical design/factory to follow for initial spec creation and first proto development including: taping seam lines, sketching, sizing and placement of logos, etc. GRAPHICS: - Resize and recolor graphics for specific modelling - Maintain all sketches and update stats and design boards as needed - Initiate graphics hand off each season with correct techniques, sizes, placements PLM: - Provide Product Development with detailed flat sketches and appropriate trim Id#'s, color and size info. - Basic understanding of PLM to locate information as needed GENERAL DESIGN DUTIES: - Responsible for creating design reference binders to include stats, sketches, fabrics, hand-offs documents - Work with Senior Director on color palettes for specific products - Seasonal market and trend research via shopping, online, library Experience, Skills & Knowledge - Strong Technical Design skills and ability to communicate ideas - 2+ Years of experience - Excellent presentation and communication skills - High level of computer proficiency- Specially Adobe Illustrator , Photoshop, Microsooft Office - Strong organizational skills - Able to work well with others to build a solid, positive work environment - Self motivated, eager to learn - Formal Design Education Required.
