Job Description:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 4 years of experience in reading and drafting agreements, negotiating agreements, interpreting legal documents and working with attorneys to complete agreements

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Law, or a related field and one year of relevant experience
  • Experience analyzing contractual agreements for technology products and advising business development and technology management teams in trust and safety matters
  • Experience with policy related contract functions, including contract template updates, escalations, and documentation
  • Ability to translate complex issues into simple and clear language, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and navigate organizational boundaries
  • Exceptional written, presentation, and spoken communication skills
  • Strong problem solving ability and attention to detail

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what's right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. As a Policy Contracts Manager you will perform policy and contract analysis. Interacting with product, legal, business development and other cross-functional teams, you will represent Trust & Safety in contract negotiations between Google and our strategic partners. You will advise internal Google teams on core principles, design policies and contractual standards to address abuse risks and enable responsible growth.

We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google's products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve contract terms; advise business development and technology management teams, as well as advise the Legal team on policy related contractual risks with Google's partners
  • Prepare and maintain key aspects of policy or contract functions, including updates, escalations, and documentation
  • Provide support and consultation to key stakeholders on significant product updates and launches to ensure compliance with Google policy standards and practices
  • Develop and manage project timelines for complex product policy launches, negotiate with stakeholders on needed resources and required milestones, and ensure that launches are successfully executed
  • Advise cross-functional teams on risks of product solutions and implementation with Google's partners
