ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Position Summary:

Assures consistent quality of all service and sale of food products and processes by developing and enforcing OTG and governmental standards for food handling, safety and sanitation; responding to and managing internal and regulatory audits and inspections to ensure each unit meets and exceeds standards; providing documentation; provide reports and analysis on performance and corrective action as needed. This position will have emphasis on food safety and HACCP programs, but also requires involvement in all aspects of Quality Assurance.

Responsibilities:

o Manage quality assurance compliance, quality, food safety, and HAACP

programs including required documentation, protocols, and corrective action logs

o Maintain procedures and programs to ensure that all locations meet organizational and regulatory standards for proper function, safety, quality, and consumer acceptance

o Prepare and update quality documentation, basing their processes on a recognized standard such as ISO 9000

o Coordinate and conduct facility audits, accompany investigators and ensure corrective actions and that follow up reports are tracked and completed

o Develop and oversee terminal quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventative measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions and verification procedures

o Assist, coach, and inspect all levels of crewmembers on daily operational and pre-operational sanitation practices

o Keep management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation

o Maintain a current working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards

o Closely work with safety and supply chain departments to manage, inspect, and correct all food safety and safety related issues

o Promote a culture of quality among all crewmembers by increasing awareness of OTG's quality processes and providing training to managers in maintaining OTG QA standards

o Responsible for maintaining and managing data and analytics related to all QA functions for internal and external audits and inspections

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in food or related science field preferred

Qualifications:

  • Restaurant or food service establishment related certification Required (New York City Food Protection Certificate), and preferredcertifications (HACCP, Servsafe, Foodservice Management Professional)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience related to restaurant/hospitality food safety and sanitation program management with a thorough understanding of local, state, and federal food safety regulations, requirements, and inspections protocols
  • Strong knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA and quality inspections, auditing, and testing experience
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to present to a diverse audience for teaching, training, project reporting and performance reporting
  • Must be able to work full time with variable schedule with ability to be on-call on an as needed basis
  • Physical ability to lift a minimum of 40lbs.
  • Physical ability to drive, stand, and walk
