A top financial firm is looking for a permanent remote junior
API Developer to join the development team with the intention of
migrating the financial applications from various platforms,
languages and frameworks (stacks) to a single-page app front-end.
They will migrate dozens of data from the backend sources to the
front-end sources page via RESTful API calls through HTTP. This
initiative requires reliable and speedy back-end systems to respond
in milliseconds to requests from many browsers simultaneously using
horizontally-scaled deployments behind load-balancers. The back-end
systems are a mix of local and non-local systems reachable via
HTTP/HTTPS and all responses are be made in either JSON (preferred)
or SOAP. Day to day responsibilities include writing
object-oriented client-side python code to consume JSON over HTTP
from other internal and external systems. The other portion of this
to the backend APIs created by the team using industry-standard
tools like PostMan, Swagger, Safari, Chrome, Edge Developer
Console. A strong candidate should have experience building RESTful
APIs via HTTP using Python3, leading IDE for coding, debugging,
source connections, and listing (such as PyCharm, NetBeans,
VisualSource, VSCode, etc.) and deploying back-end applications
behind load-balancers (similar to F5s, ALBs, ELBs) for horizontal
scale and fault tolerance at the HTTP request level.
-Some experience with Angular, Backbone, or Vue.JS
Exposure to Laravel, PHP 7.x, DOT-NET, JAVA EE and/or other
3-5 years of experience Building RESTful APIs via HTTP in Python
Ability to write object-oriented client-side python code to consume
JSON over HTTP from other internal and external systems.
Ability to (de)serialize JSON arrays and data structures.
Strong SQL skills (preferably MariaDB or MySQL).
