and Release Certification Engineering team within DRM is seeking a
passionate, highly experienced engineer to architect, design and
implement the next generation of platforms for supporting the
release and certification of Allstate products. In this role, the
Principal Engineer will partner with development to ensure that
standards-based releasability, deployability, testability,
scalability, security and accessibility are integrated into their
overall architecture. This role will be responsible for designing
the standards and abstractions, and the release engineering
platform and certification engineering platform that consume those
standards/abstractions, that will enable common enterprise-wide
practices for provisioning environments, deploying and configuring
software, provisioning data, and testing. This role is instrumental
in ensuring ATSV delivers with dramatically greater speed, agility,
consistency and efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Partner with peers,
counterparties and other stakeholders to gather requirements and
uncover challenges and gaps to releasing and testing software.
Design a robust, standards-based platform to automate the release
and deployment of Allstate software products.
Design a robust, standards-based platform to automate the
independent testing and validation of Allstate software products to
certify their quality.
Take a lead role in implementing the release engineering platform
and certification engineering platform.
Develop, track, and communicate progress and risks to team
technology roadmap, maintaining alignment with SST roadmap to
various stakeholders.
Collaborate with key partners to drive adoption and compliance with
release and certification standards.
Advise team leadership in the composition of roles and skillsets
required to operationalize release and certification
functionalities.
Own end-to-end testing and maintenance of quality, functionality
and performance of release and certification engineering
platforms.
Partner with team leadership and key partners in designing the
release and certification service offerings.
Partner cross-functionally to define joint initiatives and
co-create solutions related to release and certification,
collaborating across functional and product areas to bring the best
of Allstate Quality and Release Certification Engineering to the
enterprise.
Lead by example, mentor other members of the team, and establish
credibility through quality technical execution.
Education and Experience:* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
experience
* 7 or more years of related experienceFunctional Skills:Experience
with complex enterprise platforms and applying technologyand
automationto solve technical/business problems.
Understanding of microservices, Kubernetes, containers, modern app
development, and modern cloud operations.
Strong foundation in computer science data structures, algorithms,
systems architecture and design patterns.
Expertise in industry leading tools and open source automation and
CI/CD tools/frameworks (i.e. Jenkins, Maven, Selenium WebDriver,
REST Assured, Perfecto, Sauce Labs, LoadRunner, Performance Center,
Expresso, XCUI Test, SWIFT, etc.)
Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging
technologies, methodologies, and solutions.
Ability to collaborate effectively across organizational
boundaries, build relationships, and import and export talent and
ideas to achieve a broader organizational goal.
Effective presentation skills, with the ability to deliver a
polished and professional business and technical pitch to senior
and executive levels.
Demonstrated ability to deliver software projects on time and on
budget.
Ability to identify patterns and define abstractions, standards and
protocols.
Demonstrated practice of strong testing and quality principles.
Compensation offered for this role is$100,400.00-$159,575.00 per
yearand is based on experience and qualifications.The candidate(s)
offered this position will be required to submit to a background
