Job DescriptionJob Description: The Middlesex County Democratic
Organization (MCDO) is looking for campaign coordinators to work
with local municipalities to elect more Democrats across Middlesex
County, NJ. The campaign coordinator is in charge of making sure
the campaign gets its message out through direct voter contact.
Their main responsibility is to work with the MCDO stakeholders and
local Democratic leadership to develop a comprehensive plan that
includes candidate and volunteer door knocking, phone banks, and
online/digital outreach to ID voters, to persuade voters and
ultimately turn out voters to elect MCDO endorsed candidates.
Organization Overview:The Middlesex County Democratic Organization
(MCDO) represents a diverse and progressive organization governed
by the elected Democratic County Committee Members who are
accountable to the registered Democratic voters in the 25 towns
across Middlesex County. The MCDO works closely with the New Jersey
Democratic State Committee (NJDSC) and elects ten members from
Middlesex County to the NJ State Committee. The MCDOs mission is to
support local municipal campaigns, and elect strong candidates at
the local, county, state, and federal levels through voter
education, voter registration, and coordinated Get Out the Vote
(GOTV) efforts initiatives year-round. The duties of each of the
two elected County Committee Members in each voting district are to
represent the interest of voters, increase civic participation
within their district and work to elect MCDO endorsed candidates.
Those County Committee Members also elect a County Chair every two
years, who then appoints the Executive Board Members. Primary
Responsibilities:May not include all of the specific duties and
responsibilities listed. Examples provide a general summary of the

position.Maintains regular contact with County and Campaign Team,
local electeds, key community leaders, volunteers, and local
organizations as directed; Works independently and as part of a
team; Provides rapid response to needs of campaign staff, including
researching and responding to requests for information and
assistance from local leadership; Assists in coordinating campaign
logistics including, but not limited to scheduling, candidate field
activities, volunteer training, walks, and phone banks; Evaluates
and responds to requests from MCDO/campaign staff in a timely
manner; Tracks and maintains local budgets and voter file and
provides reports as requested related to all campaign activities;
Travel and irregular hours are likely required, sometimes over
weekends; Performs other administrative duties; Performs other
duties or plans events as requested. This person reports to the
MCDO Executive Director, MCDO Senior Leadership, Municipal
leadership, and candidates and works under general supervision from
MCDO. Qualifications:At least one (1) year of related work
experience (previous campaign coordination experience preferred);
Have a customer service demeanor with the ability to work long and
often long hours; Commitment to electing Democratic candidates and
promoting the campaigns goals and agenda; Proven ability to
exercise sound judgment and discretion, able to work independently
and as a member of a group, problem solve and manage principles in
a fast-paced, campaign-like environment;Ability to use databases to
track scheduling events and voter contact information;Attention to
detail; Comfortable working with a diverse group of individuals;
Work well under pressure and able to handle multiple tasks at once;
Adapt to changing situations on a daily basis; Available to travel
when necessary; Diplomatic, professional approaches to
problem-solving and the ability to think independently and
creatively; Above-average organizational skills; Experience
managing and training individuals; Skilled in team-based
organizing; Comfortable with managing from metrics and willing to
understand field data;Familiarity with campaign technology
platforms, including VAN; Attention to detail and strategic
viewpoints; Ability to multitask and meet deadlines; Reliable
access to a car;High level of proficiency in Microsoft Suite and
Gsuite.
