dentsu Creative is seeking a Senior Experience Designer who possesses critical-thinking, creative problem-solving skills, and can perceive a product's design as an extension of a client's business strategy while ensuring that it is intuitive and a joy to use. This role works under the direction of senior design leadership on complex digital intiatives, while collaborating with creative and technology counterparts in a co-creation environment. Our Senior Experience Designers play an important role in maintaining the UX/UI vision from concept to completion. This role will be anchored in American Express, with some latitude to collaborate with other teams within dentsu Creative, especially within the Innovation and Design campus.

You will be charged with leading (with oversight) website design initiatives. The work will be focused on landing pages, website improvement initiatives, and digital transformation efforts, with a strong focus on UX/UI design output. We're looking for someone interested in both strategic product / web design as well as final visual output and styling (weighted with more experience in the strategic XD side with at least an interest in the visual design side).

This role will also join a small sub-group in charge of building simple pages using the client's internal CMS system (no coding required, but a strong understanding of responsive design breakpoints and grid-based layouts are a must have).
Contribute to the thought leadership of an interdisciplinary team that includes other experience designers, visual designers, copywriters, technologists, business analysts, strategists, and project managers within dentsu Creative and our client counterparts
Shepherd the design process, drive decisions, track issues, and assist in client communications and estimating resource needs and schedules
Plan, facilitate or participate in client presentations, workshops, discussions, user research, requirements gathering and usability testing activities
Drive creation of personas, journeys, scenarios, wireframes, UI compositions, prototypes, workflows, interaction and experience models, and ensure deliverables are client-ready
Work closely with client teams to uncover business needs, develop design strategies, present and defend the design team's work, and build consensus
Act as a mentor to more junior team members, and be a constant advocate for great-user centered design

Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience in digital design practice, with experience managing small teams of other designers and leading user research and usability testing
Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles, methodologies, best practices and approaches, particularly as applied to web- and mobile-based applications
Demonstrated experience and portfolio examples of complex design problem-solving efforts for sophisticated transactional digital products or services for major brands (e.g. complex CMS implementations, eCommerce solutions, custom digital product or service solutions, omnichannel implementations, etc.)
Experience with design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, InVision, Adobe XD, Figma and web-based frameworks
Excellent communication, organization and team interaction skills
Commitment to constantly improving one's skills, staying current with developments and trends in the industry, and sharing this knowledge with others
Experience working closely with engineers and product manangers
Can-do attitude and entrepreneurial spirit
