seeking a colleague with a familiarity of various Cloud/DevOps
tools and technologies. We hire engineers with a broad set of
technical skills, who are highly cross-functional and eager to
solve a wide range of engineering challenges. Here, we are looking
for someone who both understands our stack (AWS / Node.js /
Serverless / Ruby / Postgres) and is comfortable implementing
scalable patterns on our infrastructure layer.Our ideal candidate
has a strong sense of ownership and enjoys owning projects from
inception to building to testing to production. We value people who

whether they're familiar with our stack and tools or not. You'll be
working with a nimble team of committed and talented engineers with
an engineering culture centered on continuous learning,
collaborative knowledge sharing, and both personal and team
development.As a DevOps Lead at Chronograph, you will:
- Maintain and improve operational efficiency by automating
manual tasks
- Be the first and leading member of our DevOps team
- Help build and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Terraform,
Docker, Kubernetes, Serverless) via infrastructure-as-code
- Optimize our Docker-based development environment to improve
developer joy
- Help design, document, and update our playbooks
- Monitor performance across our applications and work with
developers on issues by reviewing logs, dashboards, and other
monitoring tools
- Architect and build performant, scalable, and secure
infrastructure and services
- Work with tech team members to implement first-class engineer
experiences
- Identify opportunities for adopting new technologies and
patterns
- Collaborate closely across the organization to build and refine
processes to ensure efficient growth into the future
- Help continue to build a world-class Engineering team, shaping
both technical direction and team composition as we scale
- Help attract, interview, onboard, and mentor your future team
members during this exciting time of growthYou will be successful
in this role if you have:
- (Minimum) Four (4) years of professional DevOps, TechOps, or
SRE experience
- A passion for maintainable, readable, stable, secure, and
scalable code, infrastructure, and processes
- Can weigh the differences between different architectural
approaches and make sound decisions given the pros and cons
- Proven experience monitoring, architecting, and maintaining
infrastructure for SaaS applications; extra points for
finance-oriented or enterprise solutions
- Familiarity with modern best practices in managing
infrastructure as code, ideally in managing AWS resources such as
S3, RDS, EKS/ECS, Lambda, Route 53, SQS, etc.
- Confident working in a Linux terminal environment and bash
scripting
- Experience managing and/or developing cloud-native CI/CD
workflows and tools
- Interest in progressive infrastructure patterns, including
microservices, event-driven applications, and distributed
systems
- Strong communication skills; able to help others on the team
quickly understand technical issues
- Ability to work both individually and collaboratively to
deliver results in a fast-paced startup environment
- Positive attitude, sense of humor and creativity
- Strong analytical, project leadership and communication
