encouraged.SUMMARY: Compounders are responsible for the
manufacturing of all bulk material at commercial scale. Compounders
operate equipment that blends, mills, filters, recirculates, and
homogenizes raw materials together in order to produce finished
bulk product. Compounders must maintain strict attention to detail
as their job requires monitoring equipment and responding timely
and appropriately, maintaining acute attention overall quality and
consistency. Compounders must follow all manufacturing instructions
and Standard Operating Procedures, as defined by Bentley
Laboratories, to complete all assigned tasks, including measuring,
weighing, adding, and blending materials and dyes. Compounders are
required to take samples of in-process and final products, as
dictated by predefined manufacturing instructions, and provide them
to the company's internal quality laboratory for testing.
Compounders are also tasked with filling out paperwork during and
after the manufacturing process. Compounders may also be asked to
help with other duties at the request of their supervisor as
required. The schedule for this position is Monday to Friday,
7:30am to 4:00pm.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately add and combine raw materials in accordance with
approved formula batch records and instructions
- Inspect equipment for leaks or malfunctions prior to use and
shutting equipment down if necessary
- Monitor gauges, flow meters, final and in process products, and
various instruments to ensure that specified conditions are met and
maintained
- Operate heating/cooling equipment, pumps, agitators, and
homogenizers, using flow meters and other data recording
devices
- Adjust controls to regulate temperature and flow of product at
appropriate times as prescribed by the manufacturing instructions
and in accordance with individual knowledge of both the equipment
and process
- Record all operational data, including, but not limited to,
temperatures, pressures, materials used, processing times, and test
results
- Handle sampling of bulk product, in process batch corrections,
and complete bulk reworks when necessary in accordance with Bentley
Labs' Standard Operating Procedures
- Complete all additional checkpoints, procedural steps, and
forms related to the manufacturing of Over-the-Counter batches with
extra care
- Prepare intermediary blends, such as color solutions and
dilutions of pH adjusters, as required by manufacturing order
- Carry out the labeling, handling, intermediate storage, and
transport of all finished bulk products from the platform
- Clean and sanitize all auxiliary equipment, such as paddles,
thermometers, and spatulas, ensuring all related forms are filled
out correctly and filed properly
- Verify the cleaning and sanitization of all primary equipment,
such as kettles, pumps, and hoses, ensuring all related forms are
filled out correctly and filed properly
- Ensure compliance of all batching process requirements during
bulk manufacturing
- Checks and maintains communal equipment assigned to the
area
- Maintain overall cleanliness of work environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Relevant experience in a related field preferred
- Possess basic mathematic skills
- Able to understand potentially complex manufacturing
instructions
- Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willing and able to wear appropriate Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE), such as partial respirators, as provided when
necessary
- Reliable punctuality required
- Current forklift certification preferred
- Bilingual Spanish preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK
