have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Controls
Specialist. In this role, the successful candidate monitors and
analyzes HVAC and building automation systems to ensure safe and
comfortable facilities, optimized for lowest energy usage. Executes
building automation system upgrades, optimization of programming,
training, and troubleshooting and repairs. Provides support to the
energy management program.Job Responsibilities:I . - - - - - - -
ENERGY MANAGEMENT
- Perform support, analysis, and reporting of the School and
Hospital's energy conservation and management initiatives.
- Upgrades HVAC controls programming and user interfaces to
optimize energy performance, improve indoor comfort conditions, and
enhance system ease of use.
- Participate in and enhance a continuous monitoring based
commissioning program to monitor and analyze the performance and
energy efficiency of HVAC and building automation systems.II. - - -
- - - HVAC AND CONTROL SYSTEM MANAGEMENT -
- Responsible for building automation system programming and user
interface modifications including HVAC programming, graphical
interface development, smart alarming development and
auto-commissioning systems.
- Responsible for the safeguarding of the building automation
system's servers and network hardware and database backups.
- Performs software and firmware upgrades.
- Performs HVAC and building automation system troubleshooting
and reporting. -
- Perform physical mechanical equipment room surveys to ensure
that physical plant equipment is working properly and
efficiently.
- Oversees the execution of the building automation system alarm
reduction program.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all utility and
engineering building systems and applicable codes and
regulations.
- Provides support for the commissioning process of MEP
systems.III. - - - -TRAINING AND EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT
- Responsible for the development and management of an ongoing
training program designed to develop in-house employees to be fully
self sufficient in building automation system service and
installation.
- Works hands on in the field with trades people to reinforce
classroom training.IV. - - - - - ATTENDANCE/RELIABILITY
- Adheres to departmental guidelines concerning time, vacation,
personal days and other paid/unpaid leaves.
- Arrives on time for work and meetings.
- Provides proper notification for absences or tardiness.V. - - -
- - - - ADDITIONAL PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
- Adheres to departmental Medical Center guidelines concerning
safety, rules of conduct, etc. as outlined in the Employee Staff
Handbook.
- Maintains a professional appearance; wears identification badge
at all times.VI. - - - - - General
- Respond to emergency situations as required. - Be available for
emergency calls on a 24 -hour basis (cell phone/beeper).
- Performs other duties as required.Minimum Qualifications:To
qualify you must have a BA or Associate's degree in a technical
field or equivalent experience.5 years experience in HVAC and
building automation installation and service or equivalent
experience is required. HVAC and building automation
systems.Knowledge of Alerton and Automated Logic Corp. systems a
big plus.Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office Suite.
Strong spreadsheet skills. Experience with working with unionized
workforceQualified candidates must be able to effectively
