UX DesignerThe Shake Shack Designer works as part of the Shake Shack Digital Experience Team. We're looking for a talented individual with eCommerce experience. This role calls for an innovative person who can deliver an intuitive and engaging experience for our guests across our digital channels. The position reports to the Director of User Experience. The UX Designer uses quantitative data and qualitative feedback to inform UX design. They apply customer-centric methodology, such as usability testing, multivariate testing, behavioral data analytics, and customer survey to improve Shake Shack's guest experience. They use sequential logic and critical thinking to create intuitive interactive software. They use visual design and communication to support the brand and create unique moments that differentiate otherwise common tasks. They articulate and support their work through user journey mapping, functional specifications, research documentation and verbal presentation. They collaborate with Marketing, Merchandising, Analytics, Application Development, and Operations teams to identify and provide solutions that support customer need and business objectives.Key Responsibilities

  • Research: Perform usability testing, behavioral analysis, competitor analysis and customer surveys that guide the evolution our guest experience
  • Design: Create innovative, intuitive, and enjoyable (maybe even inspiring!) user experience across Shake Shack's digital platforms to drive order conversion, customer loyalty, order value and positive brand perception
  • Prototype: Build functional prototypes for proof of design concept, usability testing, and reference during application development
  • Document: Write functional specifications and design annotations to be used as the blueprint for application development and quality assurance
  • Collaborate: Work with the UX Team, Product Team and agency partners to ensure cross priority and timing for cross functional projects is aligned. Work with project management, application development, quality assurance to build, launch and optimize software
  • Professional Development: Improve your craft by keeping abreast of new technologies and changing practices in the field of UX DesignExperience & Skills
    • 2-4 years of professional interactive design experience for eCommerce with a brick-and-mortar retail or real-world service component
    • Bachelor's Degree in Interactive Design, Industrial Design, Computer Science, Analytics, or Psychology
    • Has worked with digital platform analytics tools
    • Has performed A/B testing, usability testing, card sorting, decision tree testing
    • Has worked with a mature digital design system
    • Has written detailed functional specifications and visual design annotations
    • Understands the capabilities and limitations of HTML, CSS, Java
    • Can create production ready animation and motion graphics
    • Can build complex interactive prototypes Software Knowledge
      • Figma: Highly proficient, ability to create and maintain a robust component library
