Position: Interim (potential for permanent) Associate Deputy DirectorDepartment: Senior ServicesReports to: Director of Senior Services and Deputy Director of Senior ServicesHours: Full-TimeFLSA: ExemptSalary Range: 65k-70k Position Summary:Under the supervision of the Director and Deputy Director, the Assistant Deputy Director will assist with planning, implementation and supervision of all aspects of the Meals on Wheels and Transportation programs. He/she is also responsible for Older Adult Center Program planning (education and recreation activities/calendar), specifically overseeing our Health and Wellness programming, record keeping, reporting and contract compliance; and regular budgeted purchasing and budget monitoring. Responsibilities: Meals on WheelsAssist the Deputy Director with providing support, supervision and assist with problem solving with MOW Director and programAssist with reviewing and updating MOW policies and procedures regularlyTransportation ServicesAssist with reviewing and updating the Transportation Program policies and procedures regularlyReview communications and scheduling with partner organizations (USA Older Adult Centers, ARC, DFTA school bus program and DFTA)Assist with reviewing quarterly vehicle records and needs with Driver Older Adult CentersAssist with supervising preparation of monthly calendar with input from center DirectorsAssist with reviewing regular monthly expenditures and track food & supply expendituresAssist with gathering statistical report data and monitoring in relation to contract requirementsReview and update Senior Center policies and procedures regularlyGeneral administrative and SupervisoryAssist in identifying and bringing resources to bear on staff training needsOrder all supplies and Equipment- for the Older Adult Centers, supervise ordering for Kitchen and MOWIdentify major equipment and supply needs or changes and order supplies and equipmentRepresent Union Settlement Senior Services as appropriate in the NYC AgingNetworks and other settingsImmediately report any incidents or accidents at the centers to the Director and Deputy Director of Senior Services, and prepare required forms for DFTAEnsure that Older Adult Centers are clean, well maintained, and attractiveEnsure sites are in full compliance with the Fire Department and Health Department guidelinesAssist with training for STARS and all other NYC DFTA contractual requirementsAssist Deputy Director with Quality AssuranceFunction in the place of the Deputy Director of Senior Services in his/her absenceOther tasks and responsibilities as specifically assigned by the Director and Deputy Director of Senior Services Qualifications: Master's Degree in Social Work, Gerontology, Human Services, or related field preferred and 5 years' demonstrated experience working with aging populations. At minimum, Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Gerontology, Human Services, or related field and 8 years' experience working with aging population.Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferredExcellent interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational, verbal, and written skillsExcellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office SuiteDemonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced, challenging, and constantly changing environmentKnowledge of East Harlem community preferredDemonstrated understanding of the challenges facing aging populationsAn innovative and patient professional dedicated to serving aging populations.
