OverviewThe Pathway of Hope Regional Coordinator is responsible for providing oversight of the Pathway of Hope (POH) initiative across Corps (Community Centers) and Corps POH-specific personnel. This oversight includes but is not limited to: policy adherence and addendums; data collection, entry, and quality auditing and improvement; data analysis and data-driven decision making; evidence-based practice; program implementation and sustainability; personnel training; case consultation and troubleshooting; resource acquisition, coordination, communication, and dissemination; cross-functional collaboration; and multi-level representation. POH-specific oversight is to be conducted in collaboration with Corps Officers in a capacity that enhances the functions of The Salvation Army Corps within the Greater New York Division, under the supervision of the Director of Social Services and in collaboration with The Territorial Pathway of Hope Coordinator. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Divisions primary representative on matters related to POH through the clear communication of challenges, developments, needs and successes of the POH approach
  • Monitor, anticipate, and address strategic needs to assure the/ POH approachs ongoing success and sustainability as a holistic and integrated mission aligned with The Salvation Armys values
  • Serve as the primary advocate of the POH approach between Divisional Headquarters (DHQ) and the Corps
  • Ensure consistent communication by participating in weekly, biweekly, or monthly conference calls with the Territorial Pathway of Hope Coordinator
  • Collaborate regularly and effectively alongside the Divisional Leadership, Social Services Director, Territorial Pathway of Hope Coordinator, Corps Officers and POH case managers
  • Oversee annual POH evaluations/outcomes measurement of participating Corps and complete summary/review report to the Director of Social Services and the Territorial Pathway of Hope Coordinator
  • Maintain and regularly update a POH database which consolidates program data across all participating Corps
  • Provide ongoing supervision and administrative oversight for POH Corps in the implementation of Pathway of Hope
  • Create and conduct training sessions that support the initial implementation phase and ongoing training requirements for the POH Corps Officers and Staff
  • Plan, conduct, and/or participate in POH workshops and other training events at the territorial, divisional, local, or inter-agency level, as requested and/or assigned
  • Provide direct case consultation and technical assistance to caseworkers and interns as needed
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate monthly caseworker meeting and offer support and information regarding community linkages, programmatic requirements including intake processes, intervention strategies and collection of data needed to meet program reporting requirements
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and training of new employees directly involved in Emergency Assistance and Pathway of Hope and provide casework orientation and training for new caseworkers or interns
  • Provide guidance and promote the spiritual dimension of the Salvation Armys social services/ministries programs, emphasizing the importance of Christian influence and evangelism in all of the Salvation Armys programs and ministries, including delivery of social services/ministries in contemporary settings
  • Ensure relevance of the POH approach to funders by keeping current on program funding resources (public and private), coordinating and collaborating consistently with Divisional Director of Philanthropy and their team, Corps Officers and POH case managers, as well as other related individuals to secure ongoing philanthropic support for POH
  • Collaborate with the Divisional Director of Philanthropy to effectively manage POH-specific grants, overseeing adherence to funder restrictions, distribution, reporting, and utilization
  • Strengthen existing Salvation Army partnerships with external agencies, faith-based communities, and key stake holders
  • Engage with relevant internal departments as necessary for effective project completion, in addition to outreach and collaboration alongside external entities to the benefit of the POH initiative and all associated personnel.
  • Facilitate training to the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Administrator
  • Provide oversight to the CACFP Administrator as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Social Services of Greater New YorkQualifications
    • Bachelors Degree with 2+ years of experience in social services administration and/or social services programs that offer multi-faceted casework interventions designed to address the needs of families utilizing strengths-based approach
    • Experience and/or strong interest in community outreach and community capacity development
    • Knowledge of relevant psychological and sociological, evidence-based practice and its effective application (e.g., client-centered counseling, family systems theory, motivational interviewing, stages of change, strengths-based practice, etc.)
    • Knowledge of the principles and practices of effective policy, report, and technical writing including documents for publication
    • Knowledge and understanding of both qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and capacity to communicate analytics in a manner that enhances understanding of program outcomes
    • Familiarity with databases, particularly in relation to administration, data quality assurance, policy adherence, and training.
    • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and communicate appropriately at all levels within and outside of the organization to educate and influence others to achieve desired results
    • Ability to supervise, maximize, and evaluate the work of diverse department personnel
    • Experience in preparing and delivering engaging and effective oral presentations to a range of audiences, utilizing relevant communication technology
    • Knowledge of computer skills in Microsoft, Excel, Fiscal Software, Microsoft 365, SurveyMonkey, and Zoom
