HIRING!!!!JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- - - - - - - - - - - EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Graduate or Equivalent. Courses in food service
management/supervision preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Two years of institutional food service experience including
knowledge of food production, therapeutic diets, sanitation,
supervision, and accounting.
EQUIPMENT, MACHINES, OR MANUAL SKILLS REQUIRED
All food service equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time during tour
of duty. Reach, lift, and may carry light commodities. Works in a
clean, well lit, and ventilated department. May be subject to
atmosphere that is warm, humid, and odorous from cooking foods. Is
subject to sudden temperature changes when entering refrigerators
and freezers.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Must be able to complete all tasks given. Ability to communicate
well with all levels of people both within the facility and
outside.
JOB SUMMARY: Coordinates supervision of the kitchen, residents,
employees dining room and day room. Visit floors at meal times to
check for meal acceptance and to correct any discrepancies. Report
to the dietician any problems with residents' meals. Report to the
Food Production Manager any waste he/she may observe, both in meal
preparation and serving. Supervises the total department when
schedules.

Performance Indicators
1. - - - - Must have working knowledge of policies of the
department and requirements of the Policies of the State Health
Department.
2. - - - - Ensures that meals to which he/she is held responsible
are served on time with good presentation and acceptable
temperatures.
3. - - - - Complete production sheets for each meal and ensure all
foods necessary for the meals are in-house.
4. - - - - Actively works with food production manager in all
facets of the department.
5. - - - - Visits floors for all meals and engages residents in
conversation for likes and dislikes.
6. - - - - Ensures all diets are being followed when meal trays are
being checked.
7. - - - - Meets with Department Heads on an ongoing basis for
clarification of policies and procedures.
8. - - - - Observe methods of food preparation, cooking, and sizes
of portions to ensure food is prepared in a prescribed manner.
Tests cooked goods by tasting and smelling.
9. - - - - Attends and participates in in-service programs,
continuing education, department meetings, and yearly mandated
nursing home in service programs.
10. - Reports staffing, morale, and work methods and procedure
problems to the department head.
11. - Respects residents' rights at all times.
12. - Knows fire plans, disaster procedures, and is aware of the
OSHA regulations such as Hazard Communications/Right-to-Know
Laws.
13. - Performs all other related duties as required and unrelated
duties as requested during emergencies.
