A major Shipping & Logistics company is on the hunt for an experienced Lead Data Scientist to come in and be the go-to person for their Data Science needs. The company is a leading international operator of modern dry bulk vessels. They transport a wide range of dry bulk commodities for a diverse group of industries worldwide.

The Role:

Conduct deep dives, evaluate scenarios and potential future outcomes using statistical and ML models
Apply and innovate statistical methods to help draw more reliable conclusions
Create features, and build data pipelines as an input for data science model
Engage in exploratory analysis, evaluate scenarios and potential future outcomes using statistical and ML models
Will be the technical stakeholder to help bring actionable insights and defining solutions that will lead to increased revenue and efficiencies.
Build recommendation engines and reinforcement learning-based optimization engines
Communicate technical concepts and implications to business partners

Skills And Experience:

A successful Senior Data Scientist will likely have the following skills and experience:

Bachelor's degree in Statistics/ Mathematics/Computer Science or other related fields. Master's degree preferred
Experience in statistical data analysis, model evaluation, ETL, and building machine learning models or research experience in the academic setting
Expertise in using SQL, R or Python, PySpark to manipulate large data sets and develop statistical models
Experience with Cloud technologies like AWS/GCP/Azure
Experience on the end-to-end lifecycle of model development
Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking and conceptual thinking abilities
Excellent communication skills
Solid understanding of the Logistics or Supply chain Industry
