Location: New York/OVA Line of Business: One Carlyle Job Function: One Carlyle Date: Tuesday, March 14, 2023 Position Summary Department Description The Global Portfolio Solutions group (GPS) guides and enables portfolio company management teams to strengthen operations, accelerate growth, and drive impact. The global team is comprised of functional experts across procurement, revenue growth, digital, technology, talent and organizational performance, ESG, and government affairs. This group collaborates with Carlyle's strategy-focused investment teams, network of advisors, and ecosystem of partners to increase the speed and scale of building better businesses around the world. Position Summary Carlyle is seeking an experienced Revenue/Commercial Excellence professional to join our Global Portfolio Solutions group to be responsible for driving revenue growth of our portfolio companies, ideally through the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies. The ideal professional will partner with our investment professionals and senior management at portfolio companies to accelerate profitable sales growth through innovation, maximizing technology and implementing proprietary methodologies, best practices and tools. Responsibilities Revenue Value Creation ---Ensure that Carlyle derives optimum value from the sales and marketing functions across portfolio companies ---Create a revenue-related value creation strategy (tailored for various sectors), aligning with overall portfolio value creation plan, and subsequently own Carlyle's revenue channel within GPS ---Design value-creating initiatives geared towards growing sales and marketing more efficiently and strategically with portfolio companies ---Advise on the creation and implementation of scalable processes to track on opportunity management, lead management, customer success, sales rep hiring and onboarding, ideal customer profile creation across the portfolio ---Advise on the development of pricing programs and GTM/lead generation programs ---Advise on technology improvements that increase the efficiency of executing these processes, and set up metrics and dashboards to ensure impact ---Work with portfolio CxO to assess performance of CROs, Head of Sales, etc and develop/replace them as appropriate, to ensure that the sales teams across the portfolio is at the required level ---Identify and consult on market shifts, emerging changes in buyer behavior and needs, and changes in the competitive landscape ---Analyze strategic leading data indicators to identify changes in market dynamics and prepare portfolio companies in advance for that change ---Contribute thought leadership around the evolution of the Global Portfolio Solutions operating model, its value creation offerings and overall strategy. ---Work closely with our GPS digital leaders (and their network) on digital-enablement of revenue programs ---Ensure the group derives the benefits of scale for portfolio companies through leveraging global vendor relationships and building appropriate regional and local vendor relationships/agreements to create value across the portfolio ---Support the regular cadence that the Global Portfolio Solutions Technology team has with portfolio companies (this varies by company from monthly to less frequent). Includes regular strategy assessments, program strategy / advisory, value creation plan oversight, organization assessments, etc. Qualifications Education & Certificates Professional Experience ---10+ years of experience in a revenue operations-related role with a proven track record of maximizing the efficacy of revenue generating efforts ---Experience working in US as well as Europe and/or Asia ---Proficient in Customer Success, CRMs, ABM, strategic planning, and project management ---Knowledge of digital (Sprinklr etc) and traditional (SFDC etc) GTM technology as well as the relevant vendors and ability to orchestrate a vendor ecosystem ---Experience working with companies across a range of industries, of various sizes and domiciled in various regions, including international jurisdictions ---Highly analytical data-driven approach ---Able to design a strategy and then translate that strategy to a commercial program ---Comfortable and experienced in a high-growth environment, with a solid understanding of how to support businesses at various stages of growth ---Client service mindset with proven ability to communicate complex concepts to a range of senior business stakeholders. ---Self-starter with tremendous amounts of individual initiative; a forward thinking, planful person who humbly brings the team along toward eventually generating operational excellence across the organization ---Exceptional ability at planning, managing, and delivering projects in a proactive fashion: intuitively "picks up and owns" challenges and opportunities across the business ---Superior written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to leverage them to craft and drive consensus across both GPS and portfolio companies ---Embodiment of Carlyle's core values.
