The position entails managing and growing the New York City territory composed of Real Estate (apartment buildings) Heating Fuel, Natural Gas and Power customers. The position entails managing existing customers and generating new sales volume through the maintenance of business relationships, prospecting and managing a sales funnel. Compensation includes base salary plus commission. A company vehicle will be provided. -Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring a smooth applications process for prospective accounts and, after an account is established, extending the high-quality level of customer service provided to all Sprague customers
  • Developing sales strategies to search out prospective accounts including cold calling, membership in relevant industry associations, customer referrals and trade shows
  • Keeping abreast of all developments pertaining to Sprague's products and services
  • Acting as the liaison between the customer and Sprague, answering customer inquiries and promptly resolving issues regarding service and service contracts, equipment, product, and invoicing, etc.
  • Trouble-shooting situations ranging from the collection of monies, pricing, delivery, service, and billing in a quick and effective manner
  • Working as a team with other company representatives
  • Reviewing and tracking sales volumes, periodically reporting on customer activity to management
  • Working with the credit department to manage the credit relationship with the customers and providing support when necessary
  • Providing ethical and professional representation of Sprague and Sprague products and programs to customers and prospects -Qualified candidates for this role will have the following:
    • Minimum of two years sales experience; Refined products industry experience helpful but not required
    • Excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal and presentation skills
    • Ability to work independently, efficiently, and perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while simultaneously relating to customers, outside contacts and fellow employees
    • Proficiency with technology, including MS Office applications and Salesforce CRM
