Job Description:

EMI Guide Rail, LLC is currently seeking a full-time project superintendent to manage existing and future projects for our heavy & highway construction firm. The successful candidate will work together with our field & office staff in the planning and execution of day-to-day operations, exhibiting strong time management, communication and organizational skills. -Essential Functions: -

• Manage the scheduling of EMI work on-site, including work of subcontractors and service providers, working with Division Superintendents to ensure the proper staffing and sequencing of work for timely completion of projects. -
• Have a full understanding of contract documents, plans and specifications.
• Work closely with EMI staff on material procurement, equipment needs, production and payroll review with an emphasis on reporting change orders, quantity overruns/shortfalls and any unforeseen requirements as they occur.
• Maintain a high level of quality control by inspecting work being performed by crews and subcontractors.
• Ensure that the work site is a safe one by communicating and enforcing EMI's Health & Safety program as it relates to EMI crews on-site, any subcontractor forces, and project owners/prime contractors, as the project dictates.
• Assist Project Manager with project close-out.
• Any unlisted task that fit with responsibilities and tasks outlined here. -
• Professional, dependable and ethical.
• 3-5 years of experience of project leadership in construction, preferably in Heavy & Highway.
• Ability to read and understand plans and proposals, including NYSDOT standards and specifications.
• Familiarity with terms and conditions or project contracts, subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Efficient in computer usage, showing ability to adapt to new technologies and software.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to fast-paced and changeable working conditions. -
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Verifiable work history/references demonstrating excellent contributions, skills and integrity.
