Job Description:

The Committee of 100 is seeking a full-time staff Development & Fundraising Associate. This is a newly created position which will provide support to the President for all development and fundraising endeavors. The Development & Fundraising Associate will report to the President and will at times work in conjunction with other staff and members of Committee of 100. This role does not manage others. - - -What you will do: -

  • Provide both administrative and member/donor facing support for the President, in the areas of fundraising, grant writing and partnership/sponsorship outreach. This will include cold calling a large number of prospective donors and partners, to pitch Committee of 100 and build a relationship, before introducing them to the President to secure funding. -
    • Cultivate and sustain relationships with a wide variety of constituencies including current and potential donors, foundations and government sources, local businesses and community partners. -
    • Support the President on major fundraising drives, such as for our annual conference and gala, and coordinate fundraising events. -
    • Create publications to support fundraising activities. -
    • Draft letters and create content (where needed), to showcase the offerings of Committee of 100. -
    • Establish effective communications and engagement with Committee of 100 members. -
      • Manage development data in CRM database, including donation and gift processing; maintaining excellent donor records and financial data; generating reports and queries; and supporting the President to improve audience segmentation for effective donor engagement and retention. -
      • Manage sponsorship fulfillment, ensuring sponsorship benefits are delivered in a timely manner. Provide sponsors with customer service, assistance and reminders as needed. -
      • Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer on all billing, invoicing, and fundraising activity, to ensure proper documentation and accountability. -
      • Assist the President in overseeing grant seeking, including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements. - -Key Qualifications: -
        • 2+ years of development and fundraising experience. Experience managing a CRM system strongly preferred -
        • Strong commitment to vision, mission, and values of Committee of 100 -
        • Experience with fundraising outreach and corporate sponsorships. Grant writing experience preferred but not necessary -
        • Strong organizational and project management skills, including collaborating; planning; and program development -
          • Poise and confidence when dealing with prominent individuals such as donors, executives and senior leaders. Ability to effectively communicate Committee of 100's vision at all levels and across organizational lines -
          • Budget management skills including budget preparation, analysis and reporting -
          • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other staff members, with a "hands-on" orientation -
          • Excellent verbal and written communication skills -
          • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, as well as fundraising databases and email marketing platforms e.g. Mailchimp -
            • Ability to meet multiple deadlines and handle multiple priorities -
            • Flexible self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit -
            • Ability to and find satisfaction in building processes from the ground up and working autonomously when needed - -Benefits: -
