perspectives.Your OpportunityStantec's Urban Places practice is
seeking a Senior Urban Planner/Designer to lead multidisciplinary
design teams including planners, urban designers, landscape
architects, architects, civil engineers, mobility, and other
support experts on a wide variety of projects with both public and
private entities. Successful candidate will support the planning
and urban design team in developing and sustaining a creative and
innovative practice with a focus on comprehensive planning,
strategic planning, transportation, and smart mobility projects,
within the local and regional context. Our portfolio includes local
municipalities and other public agencies, large institutions, and
private developers.Mobility, sustainability, and resilience
strategies form a major part of our work for Urban Places projects.
Our Smart Mobility team collaborates closely with our Urban Places
projects and works with our clients and across disciplines to
develop mobility strategies which link resilience, placemaking,
economic development, infrastructure, and well-being in new and
innovative ways.Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning and support interdisciplinary public
and private sector assignments including waterfronts, streetscapes,
parks and plazas, entertainment districts, campus planning and
design, transit, mixed-use development, green infrastructure,
mobility, cultural facilities, resiliency, and transportation
enhancements.
- Provide strategic oversight on transportation, community
development, architecture, and landscape architecture
projects.
- Lead teams through all phases of a project lifecycle as Project
Manager.
- provide oversight and leadership on analysis, design reports,
and master plan level graphics and narrative.
- support planning, scheduling, production, and coordination on
the design and technical aspects of assigned projects.
- Provide oversight and quality control reviews of design
development and construction documentation preparation for
interdisciplinary assignments.
- Directs, plans, and leads client presentations.
- Mentor local Urban Places and Smart Mobility, and Planning
staff.
- Manage financial targets and revenue growth through client
outreach and engagement in conjunction with our interdisciplinary
team of professionals.
- Drive business development. Identify and pursue key leads and
opportunities and engage staff in research, go-no go reviews, and
pursuit strategies.
- Lead and/or support design, technical, and fee proposals.
- Provide project and task assistance to various Urban Places,
planning and urban design teams across the company
- Demonstrated understanding of community engagement tools and
techniques, environmental and social justice's approach.
- Build new and foster existing relationships with major clients
and seek, pursue, and procure exciting projects as lead and in
collaboration with our dynamic and diversified team of
professionals.QualificationsYour Capabilities and Credentials
- Technical expert in all relevant areas of design and
understanding of various design methods
- Highly effective in building and maintaining client
relationships
- Thorough understanding of codes, legal and design requirements
with significant local jurisdictional experience and established
contacts
- Effective communicator and leader with the ability to work on
and lead teams
- Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional
judgment, creativity, and innovation
- Working knowledge of relevant drafting/design software such as
AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat
- AICP and/or other certifications from allied profession (ASLA,
AIA, CNU-A, LEED-ND etc.) required. PP credential for New Jersey
desired but not required.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License would be a plusEducation
and Experience
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Urban
Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering or
related field.
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience.New York City's Pay
Transparency Law: Requires employers to provide the following
information for positions that may be in New York City:Hiring
Salary Range: $134,400 - $168,000- New York City locations only.

education, qualifications, experience, and work location.This
